Imax Theatre — Local services in Council Bluffs

My issue is with the sound system, if it were fixed, then my review would be 4.5 stars. I shouldn't have to bring ear protection to a movie theater. I was very disappointed with the sound quality of my Interstellar showing. The sound system badly needs tuning and balancing. The subwoofers were far too loud, which meant the dialogue was often drowned out or distorted by engine noise, wind noise, etc. I recently saw Interstellar in a different theater and didn't have those issues, so I know it's not the movie, it's specifically this IMAX theater's sound system. Please, if you care about your customers' experience, tune your sound system, turn down the subs, and properly balance it. Otherwise, the theater was nice. The chairs were a little less comfy, but sometimes the retro feel is fun! The picture quality left a little to be desired, but I believe this location only has a Xenon projector, so it's to be expected. Not every theater can have the picture quality of 70mm film or a dual-laser projector. I doubt the money would ever be invested here, but if you guys upgraded the system to be 1:4.3 aspect ratio with a dual-laser and/or 70mm film projector, I would legitimately go to movies there...

Really solid crew members and sound/projection. It's in stark contrast to southern IL, from where I just moved. I've been mostly pleased with the theater experience, minus the seating. It's nearing 15+ years in age, and some of it's just falling apart. I don't think I've sat on a chair that wasn't disintegrating in some way so far. They're the more modern, reclining chairs but they're of a cheaper quality that quickly degrades through years of unmitigated, heavy usage. AMC is notorious for neglecting their facilities wherever they can. At least here I can find crew members and actually see and hear the film I'm hoping to watch. However, some key facilities need desperate...

I still will forever have a sour taste in my heart for this place ever since last year when they sold our seats to others and we had to leave without seeing the movie which had been the last time our family was able to do anything with our mother and she literally passed away September 27th Due to cancer and she was the only one who could have done more than anyone else could have gotten done in my life 31 years of my life and memories that I will never forget 💔 😢 😔 😞.
