As good as the "Beef House" is, and as good as "Maple Corner" was... We will drive by both of them to eat here at "The Local" again and again... We started out with the "Fried Oster Mushrooms" appetizer, delicious yes, enormous for two people, definitely! Batter was light and crispy, taste and texture was excellent! We took over half of them home! She had the "Fried Tenderloin with Onion Rings"... Again she could only eat half! Breading on the Tenderloin was perfect... The coating on the Onion Rings was thin and crispy! I had the "Tuscan Pesto with Shrimp" and again a generous portion with over half going home for another meal! The sauce, dried tomatoes, spinach, herbs and spices were a perfect blend in with the large Shrimp and noodles done just right! You have to try the desserts! The "Warm Butterscotch Cookie with Vanilla ice cream, covered with sauce" is to die for... Very rich and extra sweet... On the lighter side, she had the "Banana Foster with Vanilla ice cream" and its own special sauce! All in all, it was a "5 Star" dining experience between great food, great service with friendly and informed wait staff! Highly recommended!!!

The Local is a hidden gem for catering that fits all tastes and budgets! If you've helped a friend set up for a graduation party (or have done so yourself) you know how stressful it is with so many other things going on. Graduation season is a freaking chaotic whirl wind. We hired The Local for our son’s grad party. (Venue and catering) I was SO GRATEFUL that all I had to do was show up and put up a few personal decorations. There was a diverse menu with options for every taste & budget. (Including AMAZING gluten free options!) Stephanie and her staff were professional, made sure everything was perfect and the evening went off without a hitch. The food and atmosphere were amazing and it was the perfect (non stressful!) party thanks to The Local! If you don't have your grad party (or any other organized event) planned yet, kick it off your plate and call Steph. (I also have to recommend The Local’s delicious and affordable “Take and Bakes” for an exceptional meal on a busy week night!)

The Local catered my mom’s 70th birthday party last Saturday and let us use their dining room as the venue, and it turned out perfectly. I couldn’t have found a better indoor spot in the area for her garden party–themed celebration. Stephanie was so easy to work with and incredibly patient. She recommended an amazing bakery for the cake (Fluffy Fellows Bakery) and had lots of helpful ideas for the menu when I was overwhelmed and needed guidance. I grew up in the area but planned most of the party from my home in Chicago, so I had to just trust her, and everything came together beautifully. The food was delicious and everyone loved it. She made everything feel doable, even from a distance. I’m so grateful for her help. Covington is lucky to have her. 10/10. Would absolutely do it all over again.

i have heard nothing but positive things about the food and service . We was completely surprised by our experience We had reservations for 6pm for a party of 5 to celebrate a birthday , plenty of tables available. Seat us at a table for 4. I asked the hostess if we could have a table that seats 5. She walked back to the front and asked if she could move us to another table. After a few mins she returned and seated us at a table that could seat 5 people There was two other tables of 4 that have already got their food . We ordered our drinks and appetizers and meals . No bake potatoes available for min of 50--60 mins . Understandable, then 3 more tables sit 5-10 mins after we ordered. Then another party of 8 comes in gets seated . Everyone else got their drinks before us. I asked the waitress if we could get our drinks since everyone else that has been seated after us have gotten their drinks and some have gotten their appetizers and salads . Then 45 mins pass and everyone else in the restaurant have received their food and was eating . Several patrons was able to get baked potatoes . Finally our salads ,main courses and appetizers comes out all at the same time after 60-65 mins . The ranch dressing had food particles in it and was solid , requested another one . Looking forward to one of the chiefs specials the Parm crusted Halibut , cut into got a fork full of, soon as it hit my mouth the meat was frozen solid . Not just cold but frozen . I didn't want to make a big issue of it , but people eating with me , was already not happy of waiting over a hour for our food , frozen ranch dressing with food particles in it . and their orders were not correct . It bad enough that the owner seen how bad our dinner and service was and asked to take it back and get another one . I said don't worry about it , she did take it off my bill . Keep in mind there is 7-8 tables and 3 waitresses, I guess we got the wrong waitress, but when the chef special is frozen, salad dressing is also frozen and has food particles in it and the butter cheese was cold even after they lit the flame to it. As we was walking to our vehicles , the owner came out and apologized for what happened. Explained we had a new waitress. I appreciate the owner trying to correct what happened and admire her passion but unfortunately to many of the staff do not share her passion. I always support local businesses and want to see them succeed. Based upon other reviews food and service has been dead on ,maybe it was a off night. that is the only reason i gave two stars if it wasn't for the owners passion it wouldn't be worth one star . I am sure the owner has a teaching with the staff of what occurred . I truly hope she can turn it around and get staff that shares...

6 meals: ribeye was great, NY strip had no seasoning, 2 grilled tenderloin sandwiches were dry and over blackened, Sasquatch sandwiches were great, waffle fries and lemonade both worth 5 stars. It was so loud that the server needed to get closer to hear but stood in one spot. No conversation without straining to hear and repeating. The women's bathroom out of order used men's for our daughter, and it was not handicap accessible. Tuck your elbows in on the descent. Had to duck under the outdoor lights strung over entry. NOTE TO OWNER: I hadn't looked at reviews but see several similar experiences to which you offered to make it right. Had I known you were the owner, I would have said something to you. After a few reviews where you say "if you had said something," I would think you would introduce yourself or really take time to hear what we thought of the food. You asked as you walked away. I fully support local small businesses, thus our business and your tip. I'll add that my husband asked you about his Brussel sprouts that he ordered and yet still didn't receive them when reminded. My comment about the bathroom was to explain why we used the MENS and to make clear it is not handicap accessible which is important for some. What I didn't originally share is that my daughter had a very difficult time in the small space and hit her elbow hard on the sink counter while lowering herself. "Tuck your elbows in on the descent." Hopefully, reviews like mine will help you improve. It wasn't written as a personal attack, just our...
