Good people but had a bad experience when they vended at Fan Expo Chicago.
I was going through their bulk box for about an hour and found some good cards I wanted. Some of the prices for the same cards varied and the shop employee told me it's because they're not always consistently checking the prices for their bulk box items (for example, I found 4 different N's Zoroarks at different prices ranging from $2 to $9). While searching, I found a Brilliant Stars Trainer Gallery Umbreon Vmax for $11. As I was showing them the cards I was looking to buy, the owner came up, said the price was wrong, immediately re-priced the item at $60 and put it in their display case instead of back in the bulk box.
This was after we chatted, had a bit of banter, and I was led to believe that they were gamers for gamers. Sadly, no amount of being good people means much in the face of money. They get 3 stars for having a great selection at standard pricing but definitely 2 less stars due to them doing the physical definition of a seller on TCGplayer cancelling your order because you ordered cards at a good value that spiked in price.
I can't fault them for doing what any common businessperson would do, but it still left an awful feeling that I had for the rest of the convention; should have...
Read moreHands down the best comic shop in the area. After going to other shops in the area for comparison this is by far the best. They feature the cheapest prices on the current run back issues by almost half the price of local shops. The $1 issue boxes are loaded with comics worth more than you pay for them. Above all though is the atmosphere. Unlike other shops in the are the Owner enjoys discussing current comics, shows, movies and generally makes you feel welcome. Don't waste your time at Another Facility where its all centered on gaming and focus is only paid to regular customers. If you are new to comics, getting back into the hobby as I was, or a seasoned veteran then this is the only shop that you...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, since having a comic book shop so close to home is a dream come true. But every time I've gone since they opened up the selection has been very limited. Every time I asked about other comics they told me they were still in storage, which was understandable at first but is now a bit worrying over half a year after opening.
I hate to leave such a harsh review because the employees were friendly and helpful despite the poor selection. But they have space here they're not utilizing, and a lot of stuff they're saying is in storage that should really be put...
