Stopped in here for some breakfast and wasn't disappointed! It's very seldom you find a solid breakfast place with reasonable prices and lots of homemade goodies. I got the biscuits and gravy, roasted potatoes and the praline french toast. The biscuits and gravy were excellent and took me back to my gram making homemade gravy when I was a kid, the potatoes were seasoned well and had some really nice texture to them. Last but definitely not least was that delicious praline french toast, the batter they fried it in was perfection and the bread they used soaked up all the maply goodness, I'll be back for sure!

I’ve visited The Mixing Bowl three times now since they opened and I’m so excited to have a new coffee shop/cafe close by! The lattes are delicious! I’ve had their blueberry donut and it was the best cake donut I’ve ever had! I’ve also tried their pancake taco (such a fun idea!!) and biscuit breakfast sandwich, both were amazing! The staff is very friendly and I adore the cozy environment inside with the warm fireplace and plenty of seating! I can’t wait for the warmer months to sit outside on the cute front porch area! Welcome to Crete, Mixing Bowl!! 💙

My partner and I were greeted soon as we opened the door. We love how welcoming the atmosphere is. It’s very cozy and I love how you can eat in peace. The prices are awesome. My partner loved his jerk chicken sandwich and even thought I forgot the name I had like a turkey Swiss item of goodness. Yum!✨ Will definitely come back to try their shrimp grits because I heard it’s really good.

The staff are wonderful! There could be improvement in preparing hot food items. This business should really consider investing in a warming station for the hot food and better time management with cooking various items. My parents each ordered the breakfast platter and I ordered biscuits/gravy and avocado toast. The biscuits/gravy came out first and it was delicious but the biscuit was cold and the gravy was barely warm! So I was only able to take a bite and had to take it to go. Both of my parents breakfast platters were warm/cool, the eggs being the only item on the warmer/hot side. They said it tasted great but hard to really enjoy a hot meal when it’s not hot. My avocado toast was way too salty and balsamic dressing was drizzled all over it which I was not expecting (I don’t like it). I tried taking most of it off but it still overpowered everything on the toast along with the salt.

The sweets were great.

I want to give this place a second chance but from other recent reviews.. it seems things have yet to change. Hoping over time they...

This is a recent addition to our neighborhood, and we decided to stop by with the kids to try some baked goods. We had every type of cookie available and some donuts. The donuts were very soft and delicious, but the cookies were surprisingly the opposite. They looked great, but they could use some work. I didn't find the atmosphere for ordering very comfortable, there is no order to ordering it feels like 5 adults standing randomly in a room with no one knowing who is next. The staff was friendly, although they looked stressed and overworked/crammed. Very homey feel, which we enjoyed but might be good or bad depending on your preference. Definitely worth a visit for you to decide for yourself. Seeing the other reviews I think I need to try their breakfast, that seems to be driving their success. I will update this review if we do...

My husband and I decided to give them a try. They have only been open for like a month. But we loved the atmosphere. Great idea of the owner. It's a old home turned into a restaurant. Beautifully decorated old cozy homie feel. They have a fresh bakery with cakes cookies brownies the oatmeal cream pie cookies were great my kids loved it. Fresh sandwiches and salads coffee . It's really worth trying out. The food was good. My only complaint is I wish that the pecan praline sauce was more of a sauce than a Carmel topping and that it is served warm not cold. The peacans were toasted perfectly!

All in all we will definitely visit again. I also loved the fact that they were black owned especially in Crete you don't see that very much. But the community is...
