The staff are wonderful! There could be improvement in preparing hot food items. This business should really consider investing in a warming station for the hot food and better time management with cooking various items. My parents each ordered the breakfast platter and I ordered biscuits/gravy and avocado toast. The biscuits/gravy came out first and it was delicious but the biscuit was cold and the gravy was barely warm! So I was only able to take a bite and had to take it to go. Both of my parents breakfast platters were warm/cool, the eggs being the only item on the warmer/hot side. They said it tasted great but hard to really enjoy a hot meal when it’s not hot. My avocado toast was way too salty and balsamic dressing was drizzled all over it which I was not expecting (I don’t like it). I tried taking most of it off but it still overpowered everything on the toast along with the salt.
The sweets were great.
I want to give this place a second chance but from other recent reviews.. it seems things have yet to change. Hoping over time they...
Read moreThis is a recent addition to our neighborhood, and we decided to stop by with the kids to try some baked goods. We had every type of cookie available and some donuts. The donuts were very soft and delicious, but the cookies were surprisingly the opposite. They looked great, but they could use some work. I didn't find the atmosphere for ordering very comfortable, there is no order to ordering it feels like 5 adults standing randomly in a room with no one knowing who is next. The staff was friendly, although they looked stressed and overworked/crammed. Very homey feel, which we enjoyed but might be good or bad depending on your preference. Definitely worth a visit for you to decide for yourself. Seeing the other reviews I think I need to try their breakfast, that seems to be driving their success. I will update this review if we do...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to give them a try. They have only been open for like a month. But we loved the atmosphere. Great idea of the owner. It's a old home turned into a restaurant. Beautifully decorated old cozy homie feel. They have a fresh bakery with cakes cookies brownies the oatmeal cream pie cookies were great my kids loved it. Fresh sandwiches and salads coffee . It's really worth trying out. The food was good. My only complaint is I wish that the pecan praline sauce was more of a sauce than a Carmel topping and that it is served warm not cold. The peacans were toasted perfectly!
All in all we will definitely visit again. I also loved the fact that they were black owned especially in Crete you don't see that very much. But the community is...
