I was in the market for a zero turn radius mower and a friend of mine said that I had to go to Ace Hardware in Crete before going anywhere else. My friend bought his mower there an was very happy with the service he experienced. He told me to ask for Dan, who is the owner. I trust my friend with my life and took his advice. After talking with Dan for approximately one hour, I was was totally convinced that I wouldn't have to shop anywhere else. Dan, as well as the other staff, treated me like a best friend, not a customer and their goal was to help me make the best decision when deciding on what mower to buy. They are very knowledgeable about the products they carry and do not pressure you on making a purchase. Dan made a comment to me that really defines who they are when he said "this has been a great day, even if you don't buy a mower from us, we feel though we have made a new friend". Their selection is decent for the town size, and I buy a lot here. When I stopped by today and asked about fiberglass poles, the salesperson that "helped" me acted like I was asking for something that didn't exist and rolled her eyes over it. Rude. I wasn't being difficult or mean or pushy or demanding or anything. I just asked. She ended up pointing me in what seemed like a random direction to get rid of me and left me to search by myself. Ok. I usually do look for things myself first and I don't think I should be treated like I'm wasting your time. But otherwise, the other employees I've interacted with are nice and helpful and I will continue to shop here. After calling all the Westlake Ace's in Lincoln to see if the have a bolt for a Toro Mower and being told no and could not get one??? They sell the lawnmowers!! Save yourself some time and have a great experience by just calling Crete ACE Hardware. Not only did they have the part but all the employees were very friendly.
