Absolute abhorrent hospital filled with do-nothing goof off's in the E.R. Dad was brought in by ambulance and they didn't start an IV even though he had a head laceration. He's 86 and they parked him in the hallway knowing full well he suffered a fall. I sat and waited as he complained repeatedly of needing a bathroom and pain medicine. After 3 hours he passed out and stopped talking. We were told we were waiting on a head CT. It took 3 hours to get a head Xray as well. Nurse ignored his pain and need for a bathroom and kept on yacking about her vacation plans and how her mother had fallen again. Oh well about my dad I guess. They let his skull pressure cook his brain for over 3.5 hours before they even acted on anything. Then they ran him to the O.R. Now he's a vegetable and one cannot help but wonder if they'd have acted with due diligence how much LESS damage would have been done to his brain. Guess we will never know but if you have a loved one, even if it's stitches or an ear ache - I encourage you to go read all the bad reviews of this filthy dirty abysmal place they claim to be a 'great trauma center'. You'd be better off probably watching YouTube videos or going to medical college yourself! They have no fire in them in the E.R. and definitely don't care about the elderly here...parked him in the hallway like a sack of garbage and could not have acted more slowly or carelessly. Go to Big Barnes...that's is probably where the A and B graded med...
Read moreNever ever will we go back here again we've been here for 5 days and it took four of those days to get a explanation of what was transpiring with my husband and even then we received three different versions. It wasn't until we talked to our neurologist who was the best aspect about Mercy that we got an obtained a clear explanation. The rest of the staff who is younger Doesn't really care it's about them not about you. They're not very clear in their communications whatsoever because they do not want to take the time. I've never experienced such ill treatment in my life We will in the future go to either St Luke's or St Joe's but never ever again here Don't waste your time or your money our insurance will get billed I'm sure but we just sat and wait with no answers and no clear communications. You please call us to administration they never ever get back to you and I don't mean one call I mean several calls They don't care here it's about the money not the patient Don't waste your time or money. Go back to letting the nuns run this place It was top-notch then This is the worst quality I've ever seen this hospital and...
Read moreI was recently admitted into Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for about a week. August of 2012. I had a severe infection. My room was on the 6th floor. All of my nurses, doctors and med techs were extremely nice. I liked them all. They were always smiling and cheerful. They showed alot of gentle compassion for my pain and did everything possible to make me comfortable. I was also impressed at how they kept my ice water jug filled which was nice! My overall summary of the hospital is clean and very professional.
Now I want to talk about The FOOD! ( I expected the food to be horrible and figured I'd starve half to death.) But to my surprise the food was great!! I looked forward to the meals. They give you a menu and you get to pick what you want (according to what kind of diet the doctor has ordered for you) and you can choose your selections and call it in on the phone. A few moments later.. you tray arrives!! They had a wide variety of stuff to eat. And it is very good. The kitchen staff was very...
