We loved the house, and all the helpers that come to donate their time to help other families that they don't even know is very nice of them, to say the least!! People come and cook food, take requests for food, clean the kitchen and refrigerator, make sure dishes are clean and put away. Some families, such as me and my husband, live 1 1/2 hours away from the hospital. I just had our baby at 31 weeks via c-section, and I am a paraplegic. So, traveling back and forth from home every day, plus 3 hours of drive time daily, would have been too much for me at the time. Unfortunately I could not continue to stay at the house due to the beds being so high up. I was unable to transfer myself up that high up. Also, I was unable to get a shower with how they had the showers set up. It would of been great if they had fully ADA designed rooms, but nonetheless it's a great place to stay when you're in need and have a sick or new baby in the nicu. I ended up going to see her on every other day and staying from morning till night time, then I left. Drove home late at night, but I didn't care. I was with my baby girl another day!
