DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR HOME HEALTH AIDE SERVICES!!! THEY ARE THE WORST!!! THEY EMPLOY THE WORST PEOPLE!!! Within a 2-3 week period, we had issues with their employees arriving a half hour late for work, calling off on the 3rd day of work, not completing all of their work while in the home & literally having to be stood over to make sure they did, personal cell phone use while on the job, zero personality and zero people skills, terrible attitudes, trying to get us to sign fraudulent time sheets, disappearing in their vehicle for an extended amount of time, sitting outside my house in their vehicle smoking cigarettes for 15 minutes, harassing us via telephone in an attempt to get us to sign fraudulent time sheets, trespassing on my property and lying to a visiting nurse telling her that they were my brother's aide to get into my brother's apartment and trying to intimidate my sick brother into signing a fraudulent time sheet. Once we fired the company, they didn't even notify the employee who was scheduled to come the next time. She showed up at our house and I had to call the company and tell them to notify their employee who was outside my house that their services were terminated several days prior. Read moreMy aide (let's call her V.R.) left a smelly mess in my bathroom on her last day & then left to go shopping. I was unaware of the mess she left until I returned. It took me 3 hrs to plunge the toilet & when I couldn't fix it, I was made to feel terrible for calling maintenance after hours to come. They had to use a power plunger to clear whatever she stopped the toilet up with! My already poor trust issues have been made far worse, and I have again been working on PTSD due to this experience. Other poor experiences with Midwest include: On days when they can't find anyone to come out, they leave you hanging instead of calling and saying so. The aides liked to sit & play on their phones more than they did anything to actually help. They (expected) me to get up and do the work with them, instead of me resting and healing from a fusion and newly fractured spine. Read moreI’ve been working for Midwest for 7yrs. I truly appreciate the fact that no matter what’s going on i can call or either go into the office and the staff always help me with whatever I need. I mentioned to Gary about a program call ease at work it’s a program were employees can go talk to someone for free for 3 sessions. He wrote it down and said that he would look into it. That’s what everyone needs in an employer. Someone who is listening to better the company and the employee. This field of work can be very stressful and we all need someone to talk to.
