El Meson Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Cuyahoga Falls

We ordered online and the order said it would be done within 20 minutes. We tracked our food online and it said it was ready for pickup. When we went to pick it up they said it would only be a few moments. An hour later we still sat there waiting for our food when a manager came over and asked what we ordered. He asked for exact details and wrote everything down and when we noticed this we asked if they even received our order. He said yes but needed to place the order again. They hadn’t even started it yet. Other customers around us were also extremely frustrated and stating they had been there waiting for almost two hours... it was busy night so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. A few weeks later we ordered online again and once again we waited over an hour and a half to receive our food which had food missing and one of our orders was wrong. We asked the cashier if ordering online or actually calling them for takeout was better. She claimed that if we called the restaurant we would get quicker service. Again, this was a busy night for them but unacceptable for the wait time. We tried one last time and called the restaurant to place a take out order. This was a non busy night and the cashier had said it would only be 15 minutes. We sat for over an hour again when finally someone came out to confirm our order and told us they did not even start cooking it yet. So disappointed as this has been one of our favorite places for Mexican but we will no longer be ordering from here. This restaurant deserves your business! I used GrubHub to order food from here to try out Mexican food that wasn't Taco Bell and I wanted to write a review after my second experience. The beef and grilled chicken soft tacos are tasty and they actually fill them with meat unlike popular chains. This is the second time we have ordered because we liked it so much! We got the combination platters with a choice of 3 options plus it comes with rice and beans. We upgraded a couple options for burritos and a deluxe option for one. All came hot, tasty, prepared correctly and with care. First time we ordered, we didn't know each order came with a bag of chips and salsa, so we ordered some and had a bunch of extra, so this second time, we opted out of ordering any knowing we would get a small order that was enough for me and my husband to share. Chips were crispy and salsa was mild and refreshing. I rather spend money at this local business and get a great quality meal than cheap out for convenience of known chains that mess up orders and don't provide quality. They also prepared it quickly so our order was delivered to our door early, I am looking to physically patron this business when I am out and about and not relying on a late night meal. Hence why I also couldn't rate the atmosphere, but I have driven by it and seen the outside patio which looks like it would be nice for enjoying a beverage out on. We hope this business all the success in the world and look forward to trying more food options...

Hate to do this but I have to. This is not the same El Meson I have been patronizing for years. The first change I noticed was the chips. They used to be great now they are just average. I also noticed the quality of the steak is not the same. Be it Steak Mexico or Carne Asada tacos....the meat is not the same!!!

The biggest issue I have is with the staff turnover. I don't care if the new management can control who left. The new hostess/cashiers are AWFUL. They are rude and seem to be bothered when you walk in. Unlike the previous person who worked the front most of the time who was always smiling and happy to help. The new servers are, for the most part, terrible. The server we had this past week was slow, forgot drink refill requests several times and she kept forgetting to bring the silverware the hostess should have brought in the first place. The best "new" server we have had was a very nice young lady who was helping out for one night. She works at one of the new owner's other restaurants. Too bad she isn't at El Meson full time!

We will probably still eat here but not every time we want Mexican food. There are other options out there that are now just as good. The new owner is very friendly but some of the changes he has made just cannot be overlooked! I was worried this would happen and now it has. Too bad he had to ruin a...
