ILUVMYGEEK is a great place to do business. We have had a wonderful experience with them and will use them again in the future. Everyone at the shop is so nice and helpful. They are a small local business. Personally, I believe in supporting local business. In the big picture you may pay a dollar more however, the comfort in knowing that I will receive consistent support is worth it. Knowing who you are doing business with is important. A small local business cares about providing great customer support because they are invested in their business, they want to succeed and are willing to go the extra mile to provide you will a way to meet your needs. Employees in large companies are not invested in the business because they are only their for the paycheck. They are just running down the clock. A local business will go out of their way to provide customer support because their livelihood depends on you returning as a customer as well as you referring the business to others. If they do not go the extra mile they are certain that you wonât pass them on to your friends. Using a company you can trust in having the knowledge you need, is priceless. I recently ran to Best Buy to purchase a DP cable. My husbandâs company hasnât updated his laptop a newer model with hdmi. He needed a larger monitor but it didnât come with the DP cable. I walked in and asked a âGeek Squadâ member where the cable was. He said â I donât know what that is!!! Seriously?!? You are the Geek Squad and you donât know what a digital cable is for a monitor is?? I had just left Walmart and the guy in Walmart electronics gave me a 5 minute explanation of what a DP cord is and what the difference in the cables were. They didnât have one but he sent me to Best Buy. I would think a â Geek Squadâ member at Best Buy should know what a Digital Port cable is!! Well, at that moment I knew where I would be going for my computer needs in Dallas, ILUVMYGEEK. We had actually purchased Banners from ILUVMYGEEK for our neighborhood to celebrate graduation and community yard sale because they do graphic signs as well. Big box may seem convenient and you may think the people there know their stuff but seriously consider looking into a local business. They are dependable, knowledgeable and a lot more helpful than big box stores! My signs look amazing! I have a connection with a great company and I know where I will go when I need device help!!!    Read moreVery happy with my experience with this company! The whole reason I chose to go here was because of the uncontested 5 star review, and I won't be changing that today. I was helped by Tyler, who was very understanding and professional.
Firstly, about their customer service. A big issue I have with a lot of computer/IT related companies is they belittle women or expect them to not be knowledgeable in tech/computers, but this was not the case in the slightest here. Not only was he respectful, but he also acknowledged the fact I knew what I was talking about and even had small talk with me about other computer-related things while I was there (which I greatly appreciated). He was also very understanding when I had to pick my computer up before the repair due to forgetting to complete an assignment, and even remembered to ask how my assignment went when I returned the following day.
In regards to my actual repair, Tyler was very open about the cost and what he thought may come up in diagnosing the problem. I didn't come in for anything major, just some CPU cooling issues and SSD installation. I let him know the issues and what I had already done up until that point to fix and minimize the issue, and he used this information to give me a few ideas of what might happen. Luckily, the issue was very minor, (pet hair, gotta love 'em) and did not require part replacement. I was very pleased to also get a text message with pictures of what he had found, and a phone call from Tyler explaining what he planned to do next. The SSD installation was finished within the day (Dropped off around 1, picked up just before they closed at 6), so I didn't have to worry about being without the computer for more than a day. Tyler also suggested solutions on how I can prevent pet hair from getting into my fans again, which was very helpful.
I greatly appreciate their work and customer service and plan to recommend them to my friends and family. Expect me back if I ever have any more...
   Read moreI initially chose ILUVMYGEEK because it was local (Dallas, GA), they had a legitimate and professional website, and because they also received numerous outstanding ratings (almost all were 5 stars). Also, many of the ratings were recent - meaning they've been around for a while.
When I called, Tyler immediately answered. He was able to come over to my house the very next day. He was very polite, personable, professional, and a delight to work with. I felt that he empathetically listened to my concerns, and when he arrived, his upbeat, positive attitude was refreshing.
Tyler exuded competence! I felt comfortable with him and his broad technical expertise. He understood the task at hand and quickly performed the maintenance efficiently and effectively. I was so pleased with his service that I asked him to come over for a second time to work on a different computer issue that we had. Again, he didn't disappoint.
He handled both hardware fixes and a software fix during his visits, with great confidence. I'm happy to report that out of the 4 to 5 businesses I was considering, he was my first pick and knocked it out of the park. I couldn't be happier with his work and the outcome.
One final comment. The price for the work was perfectly reasonable (it adjusted based on time spent). He didn't try anything shifty and even advised me on which third party product would be best for my need (which I bought through Amazon - even though he could have sold me something through his business).
Tyler is wonderful. I'm thrilled to have a company (and technician) that treated me swiftly, fairly, respectfully, and competently. I've found my new partner for my computer-related needs!
