The Goodwill Store — Local services in Danvers

In general, you can find some nice things at reasonable prices vs. some other thrift/second hand store in the area. However, I am a little displeased with something I saw that will make me hesitate to go back and shop there with any frequency moving forward.

During my visit on 2/13/24, blue was the 50% off color of the day. I witnessed 3 employees all pulling blue tagged items off the racks and piling them into shopping carts so that customers could not buy the blue tag items (see photo). Why offer a sale at all if you're going to remove those items from your racks? I realize employees are just following direction, but I find this to be a very dishonest and misleading practice especially from an organization who relies on dontations and the "good will" of others to function.

Store has great findings.ive never had a problem until I donated for the first time earlier today. The girl ,I think she was one of the managers the way she was talking very freely and rude to me. She wanted me to separate all my stuff ,basically do her job!!!! I did go over board by throwing Savers in her face only to have her tell me to take my stuff there then. I guess it was touchy of me to mention there competition. The store manager got in-between us arguing ,very delightful woman,however was tolling sides and of course her employee was in the right . Won't donate there again. She may be imitating but I can bite back worse with attitude. She was just a plain jerk with clearly some authority to by pass good customer service . Lots of people complaining that you can’t find any good items for men and that the electronics prices are high and I now know why. There is at least one guy working there who gets all the good stuff and sells it on EBay. Even leaves the little colored tag hangers on the shirts. Vcrs which are often broken are now $20 and up? 90% of the electronic items I have bought are broken and you cannot return them. It use to be a decent store. I’ve been there a bunch of times over the past several months and hardly ever find anything. Cherry picked to death by the workers. I even bought an item one day and the guys said , “ wow.
