Upon clearing out my storage unit I was very upset to find mildew growing on a majority of my belongings. I called and spoke to the property manager (Shelly) while I was on sight and she proceeded to tell me that 3 other customers had called that week upon moving out with the same complaint of mildew. She asked if I had the insurance through them which I did and then explained that it probably doesn’t cover mildew and that the company wouldn’t do anything about it but she’d check. I was hopeful that something would get done about this issue since I’m not in the habit of throwing $160 away a month. Speaking of throwing away things, I spent hours attempting to clean my things and ended up having to throw several major items away such as my mattress, big rug and accent chairs. It has now been a couple of weeks and I have called/left a voicemail inquiring about a solution and have since been ignored. If moving in, please be aware that the unit/building was 1140. It really made this military move so enjoyable.
**Update as of 12/10/24: I had to call the property manager and leave yet another voicemail for someone to please contact me after SROA’s response to my initial review. I had a missed call from an Erica who said Shelly requested she contact me about this issue. I called her back with no answer last week and I have yet to receive a call back...
Read moreThe local folks in the Danville Facility are awesome and would often try to help when situations with billing would come up. I stored at this facility for nearly 15 years. I started out at $89 for one of the larger units.
After about 5 years I think, it rose to $95. At that point they were a little more than some others in town, but I just really didn't want to move the stuff. So I stayed.
About 3 years ago they started raising prices nearly every few months it would seem and I was told I had to PROVE I had a rider on my home owners insurance to cover my stuff or they would be billing me an additional $15 a month or so.
Most homeowners insurance always has this, so once I showed them the proof of insurance it wasn't but 60 days later they raise it $15 a month anyway.
Yes the place is clean and protected and the local people are awesome and friendly. The organization needs to allow those people to handle their clients and their issues to keep them happy, and they need to get their prices down to a reasonable level.
Same size unit at another storage place in town, $89. When I moved my unit of the same size and not as...
Read moreI honestly would put it more at 3 and a half because the place really is a good place. With that said my issues are the hours. They are not open AT ALL, meaning you cannot access your belongings AT ALL, on Wednesdays and Sundays. That may not be an issue for most people, and if it isn't I would absolutely recommend this place. For me, I work from home and have short shifts, but work several shifts in a day and my breaks between are not Long enough to go out there if needed, and by the time I'm done with work they are closed. My days off....Sunday and Wednesday... I do not remember the hours being set this way when we began renting but I had different responsibilities at that time so there just may not have been a conflict like this for me to notice, it's...
