Los Rodeos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Danville

This is my first ever negative review! I’ll explain our experience tonight. We arrived and there were very few people in the restaurant the greeter made us feel unwelcome like they’d rather not deal with us. After sitting down it took about 5 minutes for our server to arrive (longer than it should’ve taken) we placed our order so far not to bad. We all ran out of drinks and I started looking around for our server and see him and all the other employees hanging at the bar so I got up to see what was so important and see they are playing craps on the bar and money is everywhere! I just sat back down and waited. Our food arrived and looked ok our server took our empty cups again giving us a feeling that we were bothering him! Then we began to eat and my son finds a nice long hair in his food!! By this time we are completely over the experience and just want to leave. I waited a while for Mr Gambler to return and he didn’t so we went to the desk and paid. We’ve eaten here many times but this was our last! This my honest review after eating here for a few years. First, the people are AMAZING! It really does not get much better than how friendly the service is here. The atmosphere is nice too it's always clean and it feels like a home away from home. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge!!!

Now for the food. With all that being said it pains me to say that the food can be hit or miss depending on what you get and even the day you get it. Some things are phenomenal! Like the steak torta was easily one of the best things I've ever had. Buuuut I've had my fair share of disappointments and even some down right sketchy ones like the seafood stuffed fish smelled almost rotten when it came out and luckily my wife didn't get food poisoning. I don't recommend the ground beef either it tastes "off". Their fajitas are usually on point unless they get doused with oil.

All in all it's a reliable place to get a nice meal for cheap and the people are fantastic, and oh, the chips and salsa are crave worthy so they got that at least!

Keep in mind im 16, and my friend was also 16 every single worker in there was staring at us, huddling into groups talking/laughing and looking over at us. I was asked by one of the workers atleast 40-50 years old for my age, and then my number for another employee who i believe couldnt be over the age of 14, after i completely declined him and me and my friend were obviously uncomfortable he continued to ask to SIT with my friend, a 16 year old , i straight up said i am not comfortable with this he said "oh no im just doing this for him" i told him no i am completely uncomfortable with everything going on i dont like this at all, i told him i am not interested and he continued to look at me as if im an adult rather than a 16 year old, im completely disgusted with this i mean utterly disgusted.
