Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in Danville

Had a hankering for a cheese steak sandwich so checked out Penn Station. After receiving a very cherry greeting, I ordered a large cheese steak with extra meat and emphasized extra tomato's and banana peppers to dine in. After a long wait, I just observed the making of the sandwiches and the conditions. Unfortunately the floor was dirty with stray french fries and the counter was not as clean and clutter free as I would have liked. .. and although I noted I would be dining in...this was not observed. In any event, I did eat my sandwich there which was very good BUT MISSING THE TOMATOES I SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED. I also ordered french fries which were not hot when I finally received my order. The lemonade was excellent. In any event, my sandwich and the fries were super and I will go back and simply make the point to emphasize what want on my sandwich and emphasize hot fresh fries AFTER MY SANDWICH IS MADE. THE staff was nice and friendly and I truly believe that if I make a point that they will follow through. And the sandwich was DAMN GOOD so...

This is my 4th time eating here the food was wonderful but the facility was dirty. I was the frist dine-in customer of the day. The tables, chairs, and floors in the dining area had not been clean from the day(s) before. The counter by the cashier and the soda fountain looked like it had not been cleaned or sanitized in weeks. I could see that the floor behind the counter was covered in food ( French fries) from the day(s) before. I have worked in food service for 40+ years and will not return due to the unsanitary conditions. If the customer area is not clean then most likely the rest of the kitchen is dirty as well. I know establishments are struggling with staffing, but there were 3 staff behind the counter, one working on orders, one on his cell phone, all 3 of them standing and talking during the time I was there. We always had a saying "if there's time to lean, there's time to clean". Clean...

The food is great however the online order is rarely right and waits are long. Waited 30 mins tonight and when we got to the car we were missing a sandwich. We had already paid online and were late to a ballgame at that point due to the order taking so long so I didn't have time to go back in and address. When this has happened in the past they have been coopertive with crediting the mistakes, but the fact that this has been an ongoing issue seems to indicate it would be best to not do online orders in the future. Or maybe go with Jimmy Johns if you're wanting fast food.

I understand staffing shortages but you're better off getting rid of employees standing around the registers complaining and not helping, or the ones leaving for breaks and saying they will come back when they...
