ABCinema — Local services in Decatur

ABCinema movie theater is great for small towns. Tickets are only $5, which is a good deal! There are 2 screens and they are available only on weekends.

I am a deaf customer and have gone there a several time. Unfortunately, Their closed caption stand equipment is battery drained dead or not functioning correctly during the movie. It has happened to me more than 5 times.

I am very excited to see GhostBusters Frozen Empire and went to ABCinema. I called ABCinema and asked for a closed caption to be ready before we arrived. My wife and I bought two tickets and then got popcorn, two candy, and drinks. The worker gave us two closed caption stand equipment.

We just get in the movie and set up a closed caption. My wife’s closed caption stand is good but not for me because of battery is drained and dead.

I took it off and told the worker to get another one. She exchanged it and is still dead. Exchanged another one again. Sad, 3rd one is dead. All is dead! Are you kidding me? I told the worker I bought snacks and drinks FOR NOTHING. No caption with the movie???? They only offered refund money for tickets and candy. But not popcorn and drink. Silly.

Very bad for deaf customers who going there at ABCinema Theater.

If you are a deaf customer, don’t go to ABCinema theater. Their closed caption is not always work. Do not waste your time! Just go to another...

Pros- 1) price is right 2) seats are comfortable 3) Manager guy was polite and helpful 4) clean

Cons- 1) Can’t preorder tickets so if you can’t get there very early your out of luck. If it’s a popular movie then it’s 50/50 if you will get a ticket You could go way ahead if you know you can go but if it’s that day then you have to take your chances I’m a full town away so that’s a big deal. Might as well go ahead and drive up north where I’m guaranteed a ticket 2) They only do Family or Disney based movies Basically your not seeing anything here that’s R rated etc. No good action or scary movies That’s a bummer frankly I’m ok with the family atmosphere if that’s what they are going for I get it but it would be nice to have a few late night movies that were R rated titles. IMHO. They show PG13 movies so there are a few in there action wise 3) Popcorn isn’t tasty. It’s either bad popcorn or it was stale. 4) If you sit in the very back and it’s a quiet part of the movie you can hear the traffic outside. I would recommend sitting...

We came from out of town to eat and decided to catch a movie. I was shocked that it was that cheap so that was a plus. We got a few drinks and popcorn and sat down for the movie. The popcorn was atrocious. I don’t say that to be mean it’s just the truth. We thought something was wrong with it so we took it back just to have them tell us “ that’s just how it tastes”. My mind was blown. Said something about they don’t use regular oil and popcorn. I don’t know what that means but it was disgusting and I buy the cheap stuff from Walmart. Part of the movie experience is popcorn. Plain and simple Theirs is the worst I’ve ever had. Otherwise we had a decent time. Looking at other reviews I can see others feel the same about the popcorn.
