I took the first Motorcycle Class available and just graduated this past weekend after having never touched a motorcycle before! Yay class M!
One of my tenured instructors directed me to World of Power Sports to purchase my first bike. Knowing it was a dealership, I was at first skeptical because of prior bad experiences at car dealerships. However, I quickly learned that World of Powersports is a whole different ball game.
Jordan, a tenured associate of 13+ years, was my salesman. Not only did he answer any questions I had, but also addressed all my concerns. Most importantly to me, he is the most patient salesmen that I have ever met in my life.
When they needed me to sign papers and I was shopping for gear, I simply told him I need more time, and he gave me the time and space I needed. Zero pressure. This is the main reason why I went forward with this purchase. I was certain not only was I getting a good deal, but that his primary concern at the end of the day was making sure I got the best motorcycle for my tailored needs. Boy oh boy did they make a very happy motorcyclist out of me. 😁😁😁
He matched me up with the perfect power for a beginner, a perfect height, and the correct price range, without compromising quality (first thing I told him was I want a Kawasaki for sure).
I need to also mention another star player here, Alan, the parts manager at this fine institution, helped me shop for ALL of my gear. Yes, I mean everything. He educated me about helmets more than any YouTube video could do or a quick google search. When I was not satisfied with the available selection, he flipped through the entire catalogue with me until I found the perfect helmet for my taste as well as my needs. He matched the certification of DOT and ECE I was looking for in a quality helmet to protect my noodle as well as the exact colors I was looking for. May I also add, great conversation as well. Super cool guy. 😎 He also helped me figure out how I can enjoy a ride out without compromising my love for music. He introduced me to two concepts and I ended up going with two beast speakers that are bluetooth and connect to the handlebars (bike must be compatible).
I cannot say enough great things about the people that work here. 9/10 people had smiles all around with the bossman being the one exception (I think the poor guy was just stressed out though more than anything).
Any and all questions I have will be sent to World of Powersports because they really do have all the answers for the motorcycle lifestyle.
Thank you do much guys!!! Keep up the great...
Read moreI’m a bit late in writing this review but wanted to make sure it was done anyway because they deserve to have it said. After researching the bike that I wanted, I found it online at a few places out of state. After speaking with a couple of them including Rick at World of Powersports I decided to work with Rick. Rick was straightforward, not pushy, and just a decent guy handling the sale as well as follow up after the sale. Jordan also stepped in to answer a call when Rick wasn’t available and was very attentive and helpful. It took a bit longer to ship than was communicated but it was during the height of the summer season and they were obviously super busy. More importantly, before it shipped, they discovered it needed new fork seals which they took care of before shipping. The carrier they use is a terrific guy and gave us a call about an hour before his arrival. I took the bike for a quick ride and all seemed well. A few days later I took a ride up to the upper part of the Farmington River to fly fish when the bike started sputtering and stalled after about 45 minutes of driving. After a few minutes it started up again and was able to finish the trip there. On the way home, the same thing occurred after about the same length of riding time. The next day I spoke to Rick about it and he was very understanding and he offered to pay the local mechanic for his work. Even though it was weeks later that the bike was ready, Rick came through on his promise to take care of the bill, proving to be a man of his word. Although, I didn’t reach him when calling from the mechanics shop, I texted him the details and he called the mechanic the next day and paid the bill by credit card over the phone. The bikes been great ever since. Thanks, Rick! As a final note, these guys can’t be blamed for not recognizing the problem with the bike (which turned out to be a kinked fuel line) before selling it because it never happened until 45 minutes into a ride which is much longer than a typical test drive. What counts is that they stood behind the sale and made it a good experience for the buyer. Thanks again for the great bike guys, and for going...
Read moreI was sold a used bike that ended up being a lemon after I was reassured this bike was in full running condition.
It started up fine and ran well around the block when I made three hours drive with my trade in. When I got home it took over an hour to start. The only way it would fire is if you put fuel in the spark plug holes. After running for fifteen minutes and getting to operating temp it began to smoke and miss.
Once temp it began leaking from a 1.5" crack in the side case, the lifter rod tube, the head, and a few other places. The carbs were completely gummed up on the secondary jets. They had the wrong plugs which fouled up after a fifteen minute ride. It needs valves readjusted to address the miss and the entire engine needs to be pulled and resealed.
I asked the dealer for them to pick it up and address the issues which they refused. I said if I was making the trip back, I want my trade in back (one trip wouldn't have fixed the issues) and they refused that and at several points gas lit into saying the bike was fine and I was just being "emotional".
Edit: In response to the manager: you sold me a faulty bike, no excuses. Your guys did zero prep work; I thought I was buying a bike from the largest dealer in Illinois, not Craigslist. My only term was you guys pick it up; you let it leave in poor condition, you can send one of your guys from one of your 4 dealerships to pick it up. All's it took was a 15 minute ride to make all these issues evident; once again I trusted your sales person when I quizzed him about issues and he assured me it had none.
You actually gave me the previous owner's number for me to figure it out at first rather than address it yourself. Then you pulled out the as-is contract to blame me for not finding these issues in the two minute ride around the block (because I took your salesman's word, and I figured this wasn't a FB Marketplace deal). You gaslit me in every conversation we had and only begrudgingly offered to look at it if I brought it in.
Also, both tires were on their...
