IF YOU GO HERE - BE WARNED OF WHO YOU BOOK WITH HERE! NOT ALL STYLISTS ARE EXPERIENCED.
I have used a variety of services from massage to hair styling at this business for 14 years since living here. My husband also always went to Carmela for his haircuts and mostly I had great experiences with other stylists and services until recently and will never be going back as a result.
Look we are all new at things and need to learn but this place is not teaching that this is a SERVICE industry and customer service and hair skills are equally required.
If you go here, DO NOT See Samantha. She is not skilled yet and refuses to allow customers to have input.
Recently I was given an appointment with Samantha who has only been doing hair for 1 year. I explained to her the style I wanted: a blowout with no bounce or curl as I have naturally wavy and curly hair. Halfway through the appointment I could tell that the method she was using to dry my hair (a method I have actually had before and know doesn't work) was causing frizz and not creating the look I wanted. I asked her if she knew the traditional blow out method to use a round brush and blower and to make sure it is truly dry from the root?
She became ANGRY and combative that I would have a suggestion or opinion how to do my hair. She refused to allow me to me explain what works best on my hair so I just said, well then "I will just shut up and watch you do a bad job then have to go have it done elsewhere for my event this evening".
She walked away, leaving me sitting there and came back ten minutes later, said NOTHING. Picked up her flat iron, continued to create frizz (as my hair was actually still damp) and then told me when she was done and left me with damp frizzy hair that I "was never allowed back there again".
Don't you worry dear, with your poor customer service and lack of skills, we will NEVER be coming back. I was not just disgusted at the poor customer service but also the horrible job she did on my hair and the fact that she would not allow me to explain what my hair responds to as I am more familiar with my hair.
It's unfortunate because I had seen Justine at this salon twice in the last month for the same service and had a wonderful experience and she did great. But after this experience, nope. Not going back there. Many other great places in town. IF YOU GO HERE - BE CAREFUL OF WHO YOU...
Read moreI've been to Dolce Vita 4 times total. First time amazing, my mother had brain surgery and they basically brought her back to life after cutting her hair and making her look human again. Second time, I went for a full foil highlight. Loved the color however the lady doing my hair did not rinse my hair out completely, it was closing time so she rushed and 3 other people pulling foils from my hair, they were in such a hurry to leave they left bleach in my hair in the back. Well it burned my hair and I lost half of my hair. One of the ladys that were pulling foils (her name was Haylee). Third time visiting (made an appt for a root touch up). Gave all my info. Went to appt got Haylee as my stylist. When I arrived for my appt she said she didnt have time and she told me she didnt help with my hair (side note I have pics because I thought it was odd that I had 4 people working on my hair). VERY VERY RUDE, basically told me "oh well". Got a call from a manager about the situation. She gave me a complimentary visit. Went back, got Eryka as my stylist. She is 19 years old and brand new at this. I have to say that Eryka did an AMAZING job. Great customer service skills, very thourough and she listened to my opinions. I'd definitely recommend Eryka but Haylee on the other hand needs training in customer service. Eryka redeemed...
Read moreI went in for their Signature Pedicure and my expectations were high and I left majorly disappointed. The woman that did the pedicure was very nice and did a good job, we got along well. However I was expecting a full scrub on feet and legs, lotion with massage on feet and legs and well that didn’t really happen. I soaked my feet and she did a great job with cutting and shaping, filing of the heals was very minimal. The scrub she put on just on my feet, just a once over and then in the water. Lotion was briefly applied just to feed, hot wrap for a few minutes and then polish. Once the polish was on I was out of my chair, paid $55.00 and was out the door. I was kinda expecting a bit more of a relaxing, massaging pedicure that like most places offer and this even though it was their most expensive pedicure, it was basic. I’d never pay that again for a pedicure there. The room was ok, small with two pedicure chairs and two stations for manicures. I could see that time shows on the building. Bathroom needed a little work and a sink that was in the pedicure room had been sprayed, leaving white spray marks on the wall and slightly on the floor, sloppy job. Again the technician was very nice, but I think they definitely focus more on hair or...
