First time I walked in to Alltimate Gaming Lounge I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I needed a new place to play EDH and it was recommended that THIS was the place I would want to be at to Gather the Magic...and boy did I ever gather that magic.
I had no idea that I was up against some pretty talented card players with threatening auras, especially a key player named John-John. IF you play against this John-John write your will now because he is coming to destroy what life you have.
I wasn't scared though, because the other players had it out for John-John while John -John had it out for me. However, I felt safe, confident, and collective....until I realized John-John had the same deck as I did. He was out for blood, there was no doubt about it. He wanted to destroy what little I had on the board. I wasn't ready.
It was a battle of wits, an audience of maidens, year 30, were looking onward trying to distract my competition. Another key player took this opportunity to go after John-John while he was distracted. Nobody, not even John-John could see what was coming.
Total. Mayhem.
Life was lost, the other opponent at the table who died ascended into the great night sky. You should have seen it; John-John who thought he had one up on me was slayed, destroyed, DISTRACTED, by the competition, but he was not alone. I went down too, but not at the hands of John-John.
The winner at the rounds knight table was a man named Gandalf. Gandalf who was mistaken as a Daytona Beach biker babe upon meeting him, destroyed us. Nobody, not even John-John stood a chance.
I felt weak after that competition, defeated, down on my first-time-playing at a new card shop luck. Nobody had any idea that gathering the magic would end up in despair.
I picked myself up after that knowing there was no way I was going to recover from that embarrassing loss. I decided it was time to go home. The owner of the card shop advised me that next Friday, I can come back and gather the magic again.
After the experience I had, would I really want to be defeated like that again? You bet.
I left the card shop with a feeling of patriotic pride. I thought to myself, "God I love this country!"
And went home.
Alltimate Gaming Lounge will be my new place for EDH. It's comfortable, wonderful, and you guessed...
Read moreWent for a trade in but they basically did the same thing another review said & told me my items were worth about half what they were & then offered me half of that. I get that they want to make a profit but offering 25% of relevant market prices is just taking advantage of people. Even when I offered to take half in trade they wouldn't budge on the absurd evaluation. When I pushed back the owners reply was that his employees make too much money for him to pay more, as if I am the one who should be penalized for that. Perhaps you shouldn't have 4 people "working" if helping the 2 people who need watch batteries if you can't afford to pay them & operate a reasonable business. They mentioned a few times 98% of their sales happen on ebay, seems more like a hangout...
Read moreSo I've probably bought and sold over $2500 in pokemon cards at this place. For those who are complaining about prices and deals allot of the stuff is priced on condition and popularity. As an example If I sell a rare card that's beat but its a vintage zard I'll still get 75 to 80% raw card value (which is fair). If the card could potentially get a grade 10 even if its not desirable and won't sell naturally the offer will be lower cause nothing has value if no one wants to buy it in this hobby. Everything is priced at eBay standards (minus shipping) cause if they don't sell that's where he ships them (potentially at a loss). Please do your...
