Chief Supermarket — Local services in Delphos

I had a 9 hour drive and stopped in Delphos overnight. I thought that i could pop into Cheif Market and grab some snacks and beer to wind down in my roadside hotel before taking on another 9 hour drive the next day. I cameinto the market and asked where I could find a few things, including beer, and one cashier hesitantly pointed me towards the isle and said “it should always be near the produce, of course.” Which I thought was an odd response. Then when I went to check out, the cashier refused to sell me beer because “Ohio doesn’t accept out-of-state licenses for alcohol sales” said the cashier. I thought that was super weird so I left and went to get gas, and the gas station had no problem accepting my license. What I thought would had been an easy-going night where I could get everything I needed in one place (i.e. a grocery store) led to me going to a few places and made me feel like my business wasn’t appreciated. Hard pass on this...

Extremely little selection in produce.. overpriced for the quality..fair meat selection. Pricing definitely isn't the greatest. It's absolutely just a convenience thing. Not saying it's bad products or bad workers but just a lot of small negatives add up. Really look up (Lowe's foods Summerville) South Carolina. Even (Neighborhood Walmart) yeah it's a thing then you'll understand what a shopping experience is, there's actually a cup holder in the cart because you can walk around with an open local micro brew on tap or a major brand or go over to the actual bar section and sit with your drink. Chief's is a great place to shop. It's a little pricey to make it my full-time grocery store. I do watch the ads and go for specials because they carry quality brands discount stores do not. The deli and specialty cheese department is great for special occasions or a treat. The meat department far exceeds the other stores in quality and the ability to buy a large amount or just enough for one or two people.
