People of the hobby!! She makes subjective prices and is offended if you use things like 130 point or eBay sales based on the market. This is continued off another post they made so we couldn’t respond. I went to this card store with my girlfriend and looked at cards. I asked about prices on some cards that I WAS INTERESTED IN, and asked if the prices were firm. When she said they were firm, I said we were too far apart. (My knowledge being of the ones I comped through various sales through typical 130 point, collex, and eBay. She said and I quote “I dont go off what one card sells for” and I responded with “right that’s why you do 5 or 6 and get a decent average. She replied with she puts the tag for the what the card is worth, and I asked if that was subjective. She got mad and said no. I said okay and returned to looking at cards for her to go off and berate me about if I don’t like it I can get lost. Being super confrontational and rude at this point. She continued on, and I eventually told her I couldn’t do business with her because she was so rude. When I was leaving she continued to have something to say and eventually said something I didn’t like and we exchanged some nice words.you get the energy you give and I don’t think this business owner understands that. She makes her money selling 2 dollar cards for 75 bucks to kids who don’t know and parents who don’t enjoy the hobby and have a clue, other than make their kid happy. Stay away. I was having a good vacation day, and she decided to talk trash and be rude, and act surprised when she received the same. I wouldn’t do business here, I’ve been in the hobby and never had a problem like that with anyone. Customers are not your doormat, you should be ashamed of yourself…. I can promise you I’m not ashamed of giving you the words you deserved thinking you can talk and treat people the way you do. You got video, you can post that, I’m Not ashamed of giving a rude person like you what deserve, let’s see how you look in...
Read moreNow I know it’s not me. After reading some recent reviews I know my intuition was right. There is something wrong about the new owners. I’m not in the know about who owns what and who works for who, but I do know I went once a few months ago and met Josh. He was friendly, personable, knowledgeable, helpful and patient. I enjoyed my experience so much I came back with my grandson and we both had a great time. I gave him a 5 star review at the time.
I returned again a few weeks ago to find a woman behind the counter and no sign of Josh. She seemed to be all over the place and talked more about herself than her business. During our interaction I asked her if she would be interested in buying any memorabilia, especially books on baseball. She said absolutely. She said “ I buy everything. I’ll buy any books you have about baseball. I pay $2 for hardcovers.” I said great I have a bunch and I’ll call sometime in a few weeks to bring them over. She said don’t bother to call I will definitely buy them. If I’m here I will buy them.
About 2 weeks later I brought the books over but left them in the car first. I went in and said hi remember me, we talked about buying some books a few weeks ago. She said yes i remember you i never forget a face then very sternly said: “ I’m not buying any books, in fact I’m not buying anything right now.” She continued to say business has been slow and she doesn’t need any more inventory. I politely said, I understand, it’s your business and if you don’t want to buy any books that’s your decision. But I said in the future I think it would be better if you don’t tell people you’ll buy something anytime and tell them “No” when they come in. I suggested that she just tell people to call and see if she’s buying before you come in.
Something seems sketchy about this whole operation and I’d be surprised if it’s still in business by...
Read moreMy wife and I were visiting the cape for a week and were very excited to see a card shop we could stop at. However the excitement was gone the second we walked in the door. The woman whom I assume is the owner (or maybe manager?) was incredibly rude with every remark she made. There was a pull out case when we walked in and when I opened to see it empty (to be honest I was more impressed with the design of the case itself) she rudely said “there isn’t anything in there because I’m busy working on something”. Fair enough. There was a family there at the same time looking at some of their signed football jerseys. The father asked if they were firm on the sticker price of $350. The owner very rudely said that yes the price is the price. When the family asked about if the jersey was authenticated the woman very rudely said yes of course it has a sticker. The family did decide to purchase the jersey but changed their mind when the woman began to take the jersey out of the frame it was displayed in, saying if it’s bolted to the wall the frame is not included.
Another gentleman came in and asked when would be a good time to bring in his card binder to see if there was anything they wanted to buy. The woman very rudely said not now were busy. The gentleman again stated he just wanted to know a time. The woman again not today cause it’s raining. He asked if they were firm on a price for a card and again the woman seemed genuinely offended someone may want to negotiate pricing, which is incredibly common with cards.
In my ten minutes in this store I was amazed how hard the owner (or again manager?) worked to actively not make sales. This store is the opposite of what this hobby is for. Avoid at all costs if you’re looking for a pleasant enjoyable card...
