My first experience on this course was a mash-up of all the reviews. Friendly staff, though they expect you to know the ropes (and why not?). Great conditions, but unreasonably slow pace of play (there is no real marshaling on any Denver muni, so that latter is not a surprise). The fairways are crammed next to each other; I had admittedly errant balls picked up by players going the other way twice in the first nine holes. Views are good, but not seriously better than Wellshire (I'd put Wellshire's #12 over #1 here as the most scenic muni hole in town). But what puts this course up to 4 stars in my view is that the holes offer great variety and reward creativity and course management, even while they aren't that tough to slop through if you're not worried about breaking 80. It's the kind of place where a single-digit handicapper and a weekend hacker could play together and have a good time. And it has the best combo of food, drink, and atmosphere of any muni clubhouse I've seen, not just in Denver. So it's a course that reminds you that golf is a game, something we do for fun, and rewards that attitude. I think it's a bit obscene to give a golf course a 5 unless it's Pebble Beach or something, so a 4, for me, is pretty much the top...
Read moreI had an incredible lesson with Rich at Willis Case, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. From the moment I arrived, Rich was already in the parking lot ready to go—totally prepared and professional. I’m still pretty new to golf (less than 2 years in), and he created such a supportive and encouraging environment that I never once felt overwhelmed or out of place.
Rich was incredibly patient and took the time to watch me swing and explain things in a way that really clicked. He even took videos so I could watch my swing in real-time and better understand what to work on. It made a huge difference.
By the end of the lesson, it felt like I had not only improved my game but also made a new friend. We talked golf, but also had a great personal conversation—it made the whole experience really enjoyable. I came in planning to take just one lesson, but I’ll absolutely be back for more with Rich. I’d recommend him to anyone looking to improve their game, no matter their...
Read moreWe played this past weekend and the course was in decent shape, fairways and tee boxes were long but its spring golf so no real complaints and you cannot expect it to be in prime shape. We teed off early and had a solid pace of play and we were never rushed. The mowers were out at 11am on a saturday which was weird, usually that is done before people go off, and one mower was consistently in our way, we would be hitting tee shots/ approach shots and he acted like we were not even there. The other complaint I have is the $25 cart fee per person. The round of golf is $55 but brings it to $80 if you want to ride 18. That is just greedy in my opinion, the course is solid but the cart fee is just wrong. If the cart fee is that high could we at least get quality carts? The brake barely worked, alignment woefully off center, and there is nothing fancy about the carts. If you are charging that much for a cart fee the least you can do is provide quality carts. Hopefully...
