I would recommend never to go to this post office, if you need something done go to Leesville or do it online. I made an appointment to get my three month old son passport application done I was prepared with all the correct paper work and form. However the lady who was there was careless, rude, an incompetent. Made a mistake on my correctly filled out form did not ask for an apology made my husband fill it out again 15 minutes in my baby is now asleep. And since I'm obviously frustrated with her she asked the other clerk to help us. However it's obvious they don't have any experience taking baby pictures nor do they have the patience or set up. A day before our appointment, we showed our paperwork to the same clerk and pictures taken at Walmart which were really good. But she rejected to process our application for the passport because the background white looked like it had a blue in it. It didn't but just to be safe we set up the appointment for passport and picture at the post office. We were there for almost an hour until we gave up our baby was asleep. Just tell us you are not capable, don't waste my time. If you need a baby passport picture or even kids picture do it at home and have the edited at Walgreens or Walmart they care more about their customers. The other clerk also didn't know what she was doing but she did try but it was weird after the 7th picture she was trying to help us wake the baby up and I was getting frustrated with us she was trying to blow on my son's face and that is when I told my husband we had to leave, that is a health concern people shouldn't be doing that to other people's babies. DERIDDER post office staff has terrible customer service and just don't care nor do they want to help, even if it their job. This was today 10/15/22 at 930 am if anyone in management cares. Today I had 2 packages that were out for delivery, but the carrier only delivered one of the packages. I track my packages all day specifically because I’ve had issues in the past with the carriers on my route screwing up. So, once the package that was delivered was retrieved from my mailbox, the status for the other package stated that a delivery was attempted (was home all day, no one knocked), and that the package was now labeled as Held at Post Office, At Customer Request. I never did a request to pickup this package. The carrier was just being lazy and didn’t want to get out of the vehicle to put it on my porch, and this says a lot about their character to rig up a request that I never consented to nor authorized. I never pick up my mail at the post office, because I try to minimize all face-to-face interaction with DeRidder postal workers as possible because some of them will make you go off!! Too many times these carriers have dropped the ball, and with us being in a small town like DeRidder, is no excuse. I don’t care if I have 20 boxes in one day to be delivered…your job is to deliver them, especially if they are listed as Out For Delivery, and not take them back to the post office because you’re lazy or incompetent!! After a broken mailbox pole, not the nicest notes left in my mailbox, and now a package I was suppose to get and needed today I am leaving this review. The carrier needs lessons on how to handle customers. I've had no issues up until about a year ago. The carrier broke my mailbox pole by stuffing mail into it, I fixed it and now its broke again. I get home today to a delivery notice saying they cant deliver due to my dogs (who are securely kenneled). UPS, FEDEX, ETC have no issues leaving packages.
