The Coffee Connection — Restaurant in DeRidder

I am a die hard, rot your teeth out, iced coffee girl. I wanted to try their new holiday flavor "Elf Fuel" so bad but they couldn't do it iced. The barista highly suggested it hot but I HATE hot coffee so we went with blended. Even though they tried their hardest to make it the way I wanted, when I tried it I was so disappointed. It just was not it. So I asked if I could get them to remake it hot and I didn't mind paying for it, even though I paid for the blended one. They got the owner over there and she comped the hot version. Aryana Lawson and Harley Cryer, my baristas KILLED it. I definitely should have listened to their advice the first time. When I say I've never had a better coffee, let alone the first hot coffee I've ever LOVED, I mean it. Both girls were so sweet and kind and the owner was so understanding. They all ensured me I was going home with a drink I loved. You won't get this type of service at big chain companies, support local. I LOVE Coffee Connection. It's right smack dab in the center of downtown DeRidder, right behind the court house. I've been drinking coffee for ... well, a lot of years at a lot of places, and Coffee Connection is THE best ... better even than that fancy place with the green sign, where they write your name on the paper cup and charge 20 bucks for a latte. Connection is small, cozy and they use naturally sourced REAL Coffee beans. They even roast them in house; I've seen this with my very own eyes! And don't let me get started on the staff! I’m currently visiting from Slidell to stay with my fiancé, who is stationed at Fort Polk, due to the incoming tropical storm and anticipated flooding. As a medical student, I was looking for a quiet place to study—and I’m so glad I stumbled upon this hidden gem.

The café is exceptionally clean, visually inviting, and has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The staff and owner are incredibly attentive and friendly, creating a true “mom and pop” feel. I was especially impressed by the selection of organic and Kosher food and beverage options.
