I really really tried to like this place. From the beginning, the artist was very rude and abrasive, and made me feel insecure about the design that I wanted. She acted put out by me wanting to change the design that she had made even though they weren’t extreme in the least and the first half hour of my appointment she sat rearranging it. Reading the reviews before I went I was shocked by the way I was spoken to. I understand someone having a bad day but I have never been spoken to by an artist in such a rude way. There is honest and there is just mean, and making a client feel like their choice of art that they want to put on their body is “bland” and making judgmental faces is mean.
I was really trying to put my trust in the artist because I was searching for a woman tattoo artist to do the tattoo since it was in a vulnerable location for me. Since her main area of artistic ability is listed as fine lines and florals, I thought that she would be delivering a piece. I got the tattoo yesterday and when I look at it I immediately realize that are the lines shaky and some of the lines do not even connect with each other. It is noticeable enough for my boyfriend to point out immediately as well.
In my experience I have had far better art done at Wayne’s Tattoo World (also in Derry) and far better treatment from the artists there. I will not be returning to this shop, and I highly suggest that those who do choose to go have a tougher skin and look a bit closer at the design before leaving.
Update 1/29/24 : I will not sit here and argue with the artist, but I will address a few things. In the initial form I filled out from the site I stated specifically all I wanted was the outline with no shading. It was very simple and the first design I was shown when I walked in did not have shading, all I asked to be removed were the lines she had inside the petals and the line sticking out from the top of the design. I measured over the curve of my hip which was in fact 8 inches. I check my phone multiple times during the appointment because I had an event to be at and my appointment was at 11:00 and went from me being in the chair at 11:27 pm to being out of the chair at 12:22 pm. A piece of advice would be to just send the prospective piece back to the client beforehand, just a quick email, to save the artist and the client's time.
This tattoo meant a lot for me, for many people $50 is a fair amount of money and I was not prepared to just walk out on it. Asking me to sit still for a piece that moves every time I breathe was not the issue, the gaps should have been touched up at the end.
I have no intention of purposefully slandering the business, this was just my experience. Instead of any apology I got various excuses, blocked on Instagram by the artist, and told I am not welcomed back.
I hope the artist is able to grow professionally, maybe she just didn't like me as a person, I...
Read moreI've wanted to cover up a piece on my arm for years but have struggled to find the right artist for the job until I found Christy! She was honest and helpful in helping me choose a design to cover my previous tattoo. Tattoo day came, and she made sure I was comfortable our entire session and was a pleasure to chat with. I followed up with her two weeks after our first session to touch up some spots and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Thank you, Christy! I'll be coming back for my...

She completed two tattoos for me and they came out perfect. Both represent special people to me and she captured them precisely. Christy made sure I was comfortable throughout my time with her. I highly recommend her to do your first or...
