They do not deserve a star at all! This bureau is notorious for reporting incorrect information and assisting JUNK DEBT COLLECTORS to screw up your credit profile with mess that don't belong to you. As others have stated, they play totally dumb and make it difficult for you to have the mistakes corrected. Transunion has a BLATANT disregard for any credit laws and time frames! When you request validation, not verification from either party, they ignore you. It does not matter that you provide them copies of all your efforts to resolve with the alleged creditor, along with certified receipts and other documentation to backup your requests for removal. They keep telling you to talk to the alleged creditor (who again, refuse to respond to certified mail request). This one company I have been through the 30 day period of requesting validation at least 3 to 4 times already. Transunion still refuse to remove the account. Since the alleged collector refused to respond and Transunion claimed that they "verified" the info, I went a step further and requested a copy of what Transunion used to verify that the alleged account belong to me (required by law). Transunion again ignored my certified mail request for that information. When I called them to follow up, they say they don't have that information!?????? SO ILLEGAL! I have documented proof where they allowed a junk collector to continuously modify an account while there was an active dispute investigation in process. SO ILLEGAL!!! Once I called to report the behavior, it stopped for a period. But not after losing several points off my score at each occurrence of this foul behavior. SO ILLEGAL!!! I did not get those points back. Even after you've waited the required time period for a response and provide a paper trail of your many efforts (certified), they still ignore your request for removal. I've been fighting with these people for months. I will look into what avenues I have to sue them for the stress, delays and intentional destruction of my credit file they've caused and allowed!!! I have plenty of letters, documentation, copies of credit reports that have been manipulated and certified receipts to back up everything they've been up to. Read moreYour company had to pay millions of dollars in fines a few years back for misleading the consumers with a score that was only calculated through the Vantage 3.0, which is one of the ways to obtain a credit score, but I guess it did not teach you a lesson. Nowhere on your website is it stipulated that the credit score you are providing( and that I paid for) is false because 90% of the lenders nowadays use the FICO model. Your company is a disgrace: when I called customer service, the first two agents( with heavy accents) told me that TransUnion does not divulge any score to any lenders, which is laughable and the second was incapable of answering my questions, nor could he guide me through your website's page. I finally had an hold on someone who explained the FICO/Vantage 3.0 procedures to me. I drove 700 miles (and spent over $250 in gas/tolls) to buy a car and made this decision based on the credit score you provided, just to be hit with a big rate and down payment because there was a 41 points gap between my FICO credit scores, and the Vantage 3.0 credit scores. You need to let people know that the credit score provided by your website does NOT reflects the consumer's true credit score. With only 10% of lenders and financial institutions using Vantage 3.0, why on earth are you keeping this model? Mistakenly, I updated in facebook "I've started a new job" . So I realized I made that mistake 2 days after. But Transunion took that private information from Facebook and modified my Credit Report stating I have starter a new job. For that reason my credit score is lower 20 points because of that. Now, I have to spent a lot a lot of time calling them (bad customer service) and / or going to their website trying to fix it. It looks they don't want to help people and like we are living in the caverns era.
