Dined for the first time with a friend and didn't enjoy the experience, the menu or food. We googled top Italian restaurants in MD and IL Pizzico was on the list so figured it would go well. Neither of us had time to review the online menu while working or tending to toddlers the night before when we confirmed our plans. Doing so may have clued us in on the required dress code for seating. She called at 5p and got us a 730p reservation. We both show up in nice jeans and white cotton shirts for seating. The male host said he couldn't find our reservation made 2hrs prior by phone. He didn't find it erroneously logged under another day then decided to seat us anyway since tables were open. The dining room is small, it was full so it was extremely noisy. I had to ask my friend to repeat herself multiple times over dinner due to the noise level and I'm used to talking over and tuning out a toddler! Our drink waitress came over, mumbled something in the direction of my friend and didn't ask what I wanted or even look in my direction before leaving. The host came back about 5mins in to announce that he found the reservation taken down for another day while looking at my friend, didn't apologize for the mix up or look at both of us while speaking. Our ordering waitress was different from the first, was polite enough to make eye contact with both of us while taking our order. I was disappointed to not find many options for pasta with creamed based sauces, most said "with a touch of cream." I ordered fettuccine with veal sauce and it was so bland I didn't finish it. I had sauteed spinach as a side that was void of flavor. Never had sauteed spinach that lacked flavorful oil. My friend ordered the ravioli and finished it all but said it was decent. Neither of us were impressed with the food and couldn't see what the hype was about regarding the menu or the food. Highly disappointed to experience subpar food and rude service from a host and a waitress. I can't pinpoint the source of their behavior being that we both so happened to dress in the same attire. We only differ in skin color, but I'd have to go back to validate or negate that as a factor. Their food doesn't warrant a second trip to find out. Next time I'll drive to Manalu for good Italian until I find a nice place closer to...

While the menu boasts an array of specialties, one standout dish that continues to captivate my palate is their exquisite Veal Chop. Though it comes at a premium price, the value is unquestionable. This impressive 12–14 oz bone-in veal chop is grilled to absolute perfection and served with a wild mushroom medley, delicately sautéed and infused with deep, earthy flavors. Complemented by a rich red wine reduction, it rests on a bed of roasted Yukon gold potatoes and vibrant haricots verts—creating a dish that’s as beautifully presented as it is unforgettable. It is, without a doubt, a culinary masterpiece that my wife and I cherish on every visit. From the moment you walk in, Il Pizzico delivers an experience that is nothing short of exceptional. The wait staff consistently offers warm, professional, VIP-level service that makes every guest feel like family. The wine list is expertly curated, and we always enjoy pairing our meal with a bold, velvety Cabernet Sauvignon. Read moreThis is my absolute favorite restaurant and I’m so sad because we are moving out of state. It is easily the best Italian restaurant in the DMV. Tonight we came for dinner one last time (for now) and it was amazing (as always). One thing you need to know about this place is that the service is outstanding. They are consistently kind, friendly, and prompt. Additionally, they are very knowledgeable about the food and wine offerings. The servers check in on you frequently and bring your food out so fast. Tonight we had the pleasure of being waited on by the famous Danny and he was awesome. The other thing you need to know is that the food is absolutely incredible. I am convinced you could order everything on the menu and not be disappointed by anything. The food is always creative, delicious, and fresh. They have different specials every time and typically we order at least one of them. Entrees hit the table piping hot every time. Tonight we got the mozzarella and prosciutto as well as the arancini as an appetizer, followed by the pancetta risotto on special, fish and veal entrees, and lemon raspberry cake and profiteroles for dessert. Don’t forget your cocktails, wine, and coffee! This place is perfect for a business dinner, family gathering, or date. Please do yourself a favor and check out this spot. Thank you so much Il Pizzico for the wonderful food and...
