this place has a flair that you cant seem to find anyway in the city. this really clean! this you see every time you are there. its also affordable and closest store that is around with in 1-3 mile area. they carry alot of asia products, but they don't stop there. the range of products boggles the mind;indo/european, thai, korean, japan and many other places! if you need something a good chance its here! if not just ask the management-but you must buy what you ask for! if your looking for option for organic/vegan/raw lifestyles, this is a place you can shop-though limited, its the closest and most affordable at this location. we are speaking of the inter-city here! you need to go to west des moines to find what your looking for or else where. this store does carry american foods. this store has so much that you can spend a bit of time in there everytime you shop and find something new/some you didn't see before. they have a meat market with skilled, and competent workers.
the workers are the driving force for this pleasant and humble place- they are diverse in the languages.race, nationality and origin.
Dont forget the barber shop! she gives you the sense that you are part of family community. When the barber talks to you,get this sense of genuine caring for the person/customer and a passion for her profession without the cockiness! this this barber has my repeat business.
the dinner this smelt is what caughts your senses and draws you in from outside! when you place an order you are greeted with a worker that can speak different languages. i say that is cool because i can order in my tongue and others talk in theirs!
after you order the wait is pretty short (5 mins) rush hour the wait time maybe 10 min at most
what you get
great value for what you pay for. if you order soup, oh my the bowl is huge enough to feed 2 ppl for $5-$8
so are you ready to explore the culinary arts that makes up this place? either in your kitcken and theirs,
ps i dont work here but i do shop here alot. comparing fresh to others in the city, they win. i did leave somethings out of this review, your going to need to stop by and check this place out yourself. you would be readying a book for all the things that are in this place. pss i did almost forget to say this place carries some rare items that you cant find anywhere in the city,i have already looked. such as dragon fruit and the leafy green aloe vera plant leaves,in whole form. in the whole form like the aloe vera, you can start form scratch to make lotions/skin care products to first aid and more! this is a must in my home with a baby that gets diaper rashes form time to time. aloe vera is the most effective way and fastest to...
Read moreC Fresh is my favorite store for Asian groceries, with the best selection I’ve found in the entire state. I’m a transplant from Southern California, and C Fresh gives some of the Asian grocery stores back home a run for the money!! A key deciding factor for moving here to Des Moines was the presence of an international/Asian market close to my home, and C Fresh doesn’t disappoint!! As they prepare for their expansion into the former home of the neighboring Evelyn K. Davis Center, I’m eager to see what they do! So far, they have kept the main (original) per of the store pretty much the same. Aisles packed with all the Asian grocery staples your heart could desire! Fresh produce at reasonable prices, including more obscure items you won’t find at Hy-Vee, Walmart, or Fareway. If you’re a novice cook wanting to try your hand at a new Asian recipe that calls for ingredients you don’t have, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Staff are helpful, many of the folks working the checkstands are able to point you in the direction of whatever you are looking for. Prices are reasonable throughout the store, but some areas do not have prices clearly marked. If you’re uncertain, don’t hesitate to ask an employee. I’ve never had an issue getting a price check on anything there. Stock can fluctuate at times, especially with frozen items during busy times (lunar new year, etc) so plan ahead during these times. They have added new checkstands that are much nicer than their old ones as they begin remodeling/expanding. C Fresh is my favorite store in Des Moines, and I’m so glad they’re growing to meet the needs of...
Read moreIf you are looking for extreme variety and quality foods, C Fresh is the place to go! They have a huge produce section with hard to find fruits and vegetables at good prices. Don't waste your money on the overpriced exotic produce at other grocery stores... C Fresh has everything from dragon fruit and jackfruit, to Asian eggplant, mushrooms and more. They also have some cut fruits. There is a fresh/ frozen seafood case and a large meat section. There are many isles of Asian and Latino staples as well as some Western foods. There is a counter in the front where they sell lottery tickets, tobacco products and alcohol. The cherry on top is the restaurant inside of C Fresh. Pho 515 is a eat in/ take out restaurant on the south west side of the market. Their pho is seriously the BEST in town! They have many 1st place " best pho" trophies displayed in the eatery from over the years. They make the pho broth from scratch which is rare as it takes s lot of time and money. They have a lot of other fresh food as well as sandwiches, round and crispy duck, pork, and steak buns. Their boba tea is amazing too! You get nice portions of a good price. If you are planning a lunch/ dinner date you should call before arriving because the eat-in part of the restaurant gets filled to capacity quickly. The quality of the food in the restaurant and market is hard to match! C Fresh Market/ Pho 515 is a hidden gem in this city. I encourage everyone to stop in...
