I have been to this place many times before. I usually get take out and been there in the past with coworkers. But never ever again will I or we go there! They are totally disrespectful and do not appreciate customers.

Yesterday, Father’s Day, I called them about 6:30pm from jordan creek parkway area and asked the what time are they open to. They clearly told me 8:00pm. As well their Inet info and phone info said the same 8:00pm. I travelled there special and got there at 6:59pm. Walked in and said would like to order to go for several people. One lady on here phone behind counter and one in back. Another heavy set non-Asian lady cleaning tables and she said, they are closed. I said travelled special at least 15 plus miles and they said they were opened until 8:00pm and the sign in the window said open as well. She immediately turns the sign off, says they are closed.

Not even a “I’m sorry but we are closing early cause of Fathers Day” or whatever. Not even a I’m sorry you travelled here. Total disrespect and unappreciated of customers. I will take the $300-$400 I easily give them every month to TNT Restaurant not too far north at MLK and Euclid. Where I went after PHO 888 slapping me in the face last night as they truly appreciate their customers at TNT.

From the bottom of my heart, PHO 888 are really self serving people that do not deserve my support or any others. Hey, my kids mom is Laos and believe me I can easily get 15-20 people to not patronize them on a regular basis. What disrespect towards a customer can someone receive? Never before, anyway have I experienced what I did last night at PHO 888. Like I said, I would not be writing this if they said, “I’m sorry, we have to close early” or something similar.

Thanks for reading this, please do not spend your hard earned dollars with these people. Lots of other PHO and SE Asian restaurants in Des Moines who love their...

HORRIBLE customer service!!!! I walked in an placed my order an paid for it an was told it would be 15 minutes. I went back in after 15 minutes an was told it would be another 5minutes. I explained to then i had just gotten an urgent call an if it would be longer than 5 minutes to just cancel an refund me. Exactly 5-minutes later a lady walks out with my food an says I need to pay for it, I explained to her I had already paid for it when I ordered and she said that the cashier had rung me up wrong and I still owe $10 I explained to her I was in a hurry and if they could just keep the food and refund my card because I needed to go and I didn't have time to go back out to the car get my card bring it back in and have them run it, she then proceeded to tell me that I just want free food and that I have to take the food because they made it for me already an can not do refunds an I better call within 10 minutes to pay the $10 because they had my face in camera. I had already paid for $30 worth of food and this woman is acting like I was just a straight-up thief and was trying to take from them!! Me and my daughter usually order from them at least once a week these past five or six months but this will be the absolute last time we will...

If you’ve read my other reviews, you know I can eat quite a bit, but I was genuinely impressed by the portion sizes at this restaurant. The Pho, which is packed with meat and noodles, was so generous that I couldn’t finish it during my last visit—something that rarely happens to me. I usually stick to the basic Pho Ga (Chicken), but I've also tried their craft drinks and appetizers, all of which have been delicious. I particularly enjoy their spring rolls and egg rolls. The spring rolls come with eight shrimp divided between two rolls, making them a standout as particularly large.

The staff is consistently friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable—perhaps even lower than other Pho spots around Des Moines. My only minor complaints are the lack of refillable fountain drinks (soda can be pricey) and the absence of accessible nutritional information on the menu or website. Given Pho's generally low calorie count, highlighting this could be beneficial for health-conscious diners like myself. In either case, I'll definitely be back sometime and encourage you all to try it if...

Yes. You should eat here. We come here all the time because it’s consistently the tastiest and most authentic pho we can find in the Des Moines area. You won’t be impressed by the building, but the food more than makes up for it. Some of my favorite places to eat aren’t much to look at, but I’m not going there to look around, I’m going for food. You may even feel like you been plucked out of the Midwest and plopped down in a restaurant somewhere in Vietnam or at least on the West Coast. I like the vegetable pho and Lemongrass Vermicelli with tofu (not on the menu anymore, but they can still make it). They load up the pho with all kinds of veggies, a richly flavored broth and fresh crisp bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeños, lime wedges and culantro (yes culantro, not cilantro) to top it off. Remember to use your chopsticks and spoon together. Noodles will slip right off your spoon, but you want a little broth with each bite.

I have been going here for years, finally writing a review and I would consider this one of the top 3 Vietnamese restaurants in town. The place is a little run down, minimal decor but decent sized, and the service is ok most days. If you are looking for good Vietnamese food then this is the place for you. I haven't been here in a while and they updated their menu. I had worked my way through most of their old menu and I haven't been disappointed in any of the dishes I had tried. Their Pho is definitely one of the best in town. Some of my favorites are: Goi Cuon Thit Nuong (Grilled pork spring rolls), Bun Cha Gio Tom Thit Nuong (egg roll, shrimp, pork noodle salad), Com Dac Biet (grilled pork chop, egg souffle, shredded pork\skin with sunny side egg over rice).
