I would really like to rate this higher because I have had nice encounters with some of the staff members and one pharmacist. They have helped me many times.
One small gripe:
My issue is that I don't like how they say the name of whatever prescription I am picking up. They will now offer to go to a consultation room or go through the window. However, the windows are not always open.
Prescription data is not the type of information you want people in your community knowing or discussing. One is not being given a choice here as to what data to share because they are disclosing it to you whether you want everyone else to hear about it or not.
I hope their new management is more sensitive to this issue because no one wants to discuss their rights as patients and watch their providers or pharmacy or insurance company have an issue with them. Maybe other patients do not care, but I would like to keep my medical information to myself and also not ever have to explain HIPAA to people who should be...
Read moreI'm torn with this one. Just left urgent care and I've been lugging around an ear infection for weeks. They selected the Hy-Vee pharmacy at 24th and Euclid. I arrive and just stand there. Two blonde women ignored me completely. I stood in front of the "drop off" window, respectfully waiting for assistance. It never arrived. The short-haired one looked at me and went to the back, the long-haired one floated past as well. Finally, I make my way to the cash register and asked the tall gentleman if he'd at least confirm if I was at the correct location. He did and then proceeded to be helpful and professional. Five minutes later, I'm leaving with my antibiotics. I will not have my medicine sent here again. He did clean it up but what a terrible introduction to Hy-Vee.
UPDATE: No. I will not reach out. Employees should be proactively professional. I don't believe in post incident action. People show you who they are and what they're about upon introduction....
Read moreI've been to SEVERAL pharmacies, unfortunately, in my lifetime. I've been going to Hy-Vee on E. Euclid for maybe 6 months now, and it's easily the best pharmacy in Des Moines By FAR!! I NEVER have any issues getting my medicine. I won't name drop but the pretty young lady with glasses is very sweet, and seems to honestly care about her customers. Same goes for the taller gentleman. He may be the manager I'm not too sure. But the entire staff cares about their customers and it truly shows. They do everything they can to make sure you get the medication you need. They understand that people need their medicine, and they bust their butts to get it to them. Thank God for this place. I believe it's because of the type of medication that I take, but both the Merle Hay Rd. and the SE14th location have treated me very poorly. I was worried that a good pharmacy didn't exist, and now I will never go...
