Terri’s Cakes Detroit - Custom Orders Only — Local services in Detroit

I used Terri's Cakes for my October wedding and cannot recommend them enough for their desserts and as vendors.

First, the desserts. I'm not a huge cake person (sorry!) but Terri's Cakes know what they're doing and they do it WELL. The flavor options are all amazing, I actually can't pick a favorite of what we tried. The cakes are moist and the frosting isn't overly sugary and sweet.

For our wedding, we ordered a 3-tiered cake that could feed all of our guests, as well as the cake jars for people to take home as a favor. Terri's cakes also offered to customize the jars for us with stickers of whatever we wanted - we chose our dog and it was such a cute, small detail that a lot of guests loved.

Second, the customer service. This is a family owned business and they will treat you like family as well. The woman we did our consultations with was so helpful, fun and nice. She explained all of our options to us clearly and made sure we were happy with what we were getting.

We had a number of guests with nut and gluten allergies, and we were assured their bakery takes these issues very seriously. We felt comfortable serving these products to our friends and family with dietary restrictions.

As a bonus - we get a complementary dessert for our one year anniversary so we didn't have to worry about freezing part of our cake! I'm already excited to see...

Dealing with Terri’s Cakes has been the most unprofessional experience of my natural life. I called at least a week an a half ago to order a cake for my girls birthday. I was told that the owner was going on vacation. Okay no worries; will she be able to complete an order for 4/3 due to this fact? “Yes we can have it done for and ready for Saturday 4/3.” I had my girl call and provide the order that she wanted. A few days later my girl called to check on the order and was told that no order was taken and please provide the order again. One day before 4/3 my girl calls to check on the order and is given little to no explanation that our order can not be fulfilled. No courtesy to call us, no courtesy to explain that it’s too close to fulfill, no courtesy to apologize or even be kind. No reason to ever do business with them. My girl also stated the lady had an attitude with her, as if she was upset to get an order. Don’t waste your time with this...

They are truly amazing! Angels in fact to me 👼 I'm planning my oldest daughter's sweet 16 party that I wasn't even sure id make it to bc I have cancer. Im not sure how many more special events I'll be able to attend but they have made it possible to help make this the best ever. My daughter had a certain vision for her party n all that goes with it. They are not only making the most amazing glow in the dark cake that she absolutely wanted design everything they made possible but they also worked with me on pricing making what would have never been possible a dream come true. I wouldn't go anywhere else and you shouldn't either. They are talented and have heart something rare to find these days. Im so very grateful...
