Let me start by saying I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HANNA BRIDAL!!
As a new bride-to-be, I was super excited to begin shopping for my wedding dress - but I was also skeptical that I would be able to find one on the first day of shopping - as I figured it was pretty standard to have to try on countless dresses - at various shops before I had my big "ah-ha" moment. My sister and I even agreed to "try not to fall in love with a dress that day." However, all that went out the door the minute we walked into Hanna Bridal.
While we were early for our appointment , Candace was super accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure that our experience that day was amazing. I can't tell you how refreshing that was - after visiting a few stores earlier in the day - where I just felt like "another appointment they needed to get through in exactly one hour" - with none of the dresses meeting my expectations. To be totally honest, I was mentally/emotionally defeated by the time we got to Hanna Bridal, but her set up, demeanor, and intimate experience completely changed my mindset.
With only a few questions asked - Candace picked out a few dresses for me and immediately upon putting on the first one - I almost started to tear up - not because that dress was for sure the one - but because I knew these were the style of dresses I was looking for and finally someone actually listened, understood, and had an eye for style. The fits/designs of the dresses made me feel beautiful and glamorous, and for the first time that day , I felt like a bride. To be honest - it almost felt to good to be true that I had to look at the price tag - but was so relieved that it was within my budget (I greatly appreciate that Candace respected and made sure that each dress she had me try on was never over my limit).
We shared so many great laughs and moments that day - but I was upfront with Candace and let her know that I couldn't walk out with a dress that day (even though I loved two), as it was important for me to have my Aunt and Grandma there. Without question , Candace offered to stay late and/or accommodate our schedule for whenever we could come back. It was so refreshing to have someone be so understanding/caring - and not pressure you to make a decision right then and there. She understood that part of selecting the dress was the "experience."
Within one week - I reached out to Candace regarding another appointment - and while she was willing to make time in-between her other appointments, fortunately she had an opening that day (which by the way I LOVE the appointment system online because I am not one that loves making calls). I let Candace know that my grandma and Aunt really wanted to have that "say yes to the dress" experience which meant trying on some "no's" and without question - she pulled a few dresses for me - my yes's and my no's - even though this meant another one hour appointment. She even took time with each one to add a veil so we could envision how it would look the day of and without question had no concerns with me walking back and forth through her store so my family could envision me walking down the aisle LOL. IT WAS SO PERFECT AND SO SPECIAL! It meant the world to me to have my family there - especially my grandma - when I said yes to the dress. Again, so many laughs, no pressure, super intimate/personable experience, beautiful dresses - everything a soon to be bride could ask for. This day is so special, and no one should ever settle. So, with that being said, I'm super grateful and thankful to Hanna Bridal. I absolutely can't wait for my fiance to see me in...
Read moreI had a great initial experience with Candace - I went alone on my first visit to narrow down dresses, and Candace was personable and helpful. Although, after I purchased my dress, some of the interactions felt slightly rushed.
I purchased my dress and veil at Hanna Bridal, even though I knew I could get both elsewhere for several hundred dollars less. I wanted to support a local business and also because I enjoyed my personalized experience with Candace.
Unfortunately, once I ordered my dress, my overall experience went downhill. I purchased a Maggie Sottero dress in an ivory over blush color. Although the dress came with the correct tags and labels, the dress was in the wrong color (ivory over ivory). It wasn't until I brought it to my seamstress for alterations that I noticed the wrong color.
I immediately contacted the salon and sent them photos of everything when I found out. They confirmed that the dress was in the wrong color, but that it was too late and that there was nothing they could do. I also tried contacting Maggie Sottero, but they said that since I purchased it with their authorized retailer, they couldn't do anything about it even though the tags and receipt both stated it was ivory over blush.
We try on a used sample, in a size that probably isn't ours, and assume we'll like the fit based on measurements and clips. We pay thousands of dollars and wait ~8 months to receive a dress, only to realize that it's not what we paid and waited for. Weddings are such a big investment and important milestone in our lives, and I wish they tried to provide a solution (refund, contacting the manufacturer, etc.).
I hope this is a learning lesson for the salon to triple check the dresses, and maybe try to work with the client to find a solution if there is a problem with the dress, regardless of whether it is the manufacturer/designer or retailer's "fault."
Edit: Thank you for your prompt response. However, I still believe that if you had carefully inspected the dress aside from the tag, you would have caught the color error. Most of us clients are first time brides- we pay a lot of money for a white dress and put our trust in you as an authorized retailer. Even if it had been a while, this situation wouldn't have left a bad taste in my mouth if an effort was made to reach out to the manufacturer/designer other than "tough luck, it's been too long." Not the end of the world, but it would have been nice if you tried to reach out to make things right, or a...
Read moreIf you are a bride or know a bride, this is THE place to go in Southern California. I probably visited about 20 boutiques throughout Los Angeles and Orange County this year and nothing even comes close to my experience at Hanna Bridal. I originally found Hanna Bridal by searching Justin Alexander carriers in the area, and I was hooked after reaching out about an appointment and receiving an immediate response from the owner, Candace. Candace is by far the best person I have met through my experience as a bride, period. She is an expert in her field, cares deeply about her brides, and most importantly, she goes to great lengths to ensure her customers are taken care of every step of the way. I have met many people in the wedding industry who are just in it for the money or who will say anything to make a sale, but Candace wants the best for every bride whether they end up buying from her boutique or not, and it shows. Wedding dress shopping was an incredibly stressful experience for me due to personal reasons (I broke down at one point during the appointment - not happy tears… yet) and she and her sister were so understanding and supportive. They knew exactly what to pull based on my taste and concerns, actually LISTENED, and were a critical reason why I found a dress that I will feel confident walking down the aisle in - a concept I had honestly given up on by the time I found Hanna Bridal. The prices are extremely reasonable especially for SoCal, the selection is versatile and vast, and Candace kept in contact at every step of the process. She even shipped the veil to me because I live a ways away and it arrived after my dress. I’ve heard so many horror stories about dress shopping, and I can promise you that Candace will take care of you and will go above and beyond to ensure you find your dream wedding dress and receive it in time - even if there are hiccups outside her control, in which case she will fight for you. If you want to support an amazing boutique and have a great experience choosing your dress, you absolutely must go to Hanna Bridal! I promise you however far you are, it is...
