I went into my locally owned True Value, and asked if they would special order some Palm Tree fertilizer for a client of mine and they said it would arrive at the store in on Thursday... I went in at closing time to grab it and they could not find it, although it looked like it had come on the truck, so I came in the next day and spoke to Jennifer whom does the special orders and again they had just about every employee in the store looking because they understood I had a deadline on the project, so where other store and employees would have passed the buck and stop looking, they tore that place apart looking for about 30 minutes and they were profusely apologizing for the inconvenience... And at last they found it and I was happily on my way... Had I go to the Depot or Lowe's I am sure the employees would have long given up and said it didn't come in on the truck and you have to come back Monday... Thank god for small business owner and their wonderfully dedicated staff that gives you two courteous and professional assistance... Thank you to Jennifer and the rest of the staff for going above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed, not a buck of BS excuses like other corporate stores... Five star service and competitive...

We were told by their salesperson Don the tractor guy whose face and number are on our tractor, that when we needed a 50 hour service they would have a mobile service that would come to us. There is also a minor recall issue that needs fixing. Fast forward to that time and we call to get the service and come to find Don has been let go and they do not honor anything that was told to us when we bought it. They also dropped John Deere as brand they sell. We were told we could come to them but they would have the tractor for three weeks and if we needed to rent a trailer to bring our tractor in it was an outrageous amount to do so. I was kind of treated like dirt on the phone by an employee there when I called. He said and I quote, "What do you have a lawnmower?" in a very condescending voice and I said no I have an actual tractor, etc. etc. A very disappointing experience overall. It is not a good place to have lawn equipment repaired. I purchased a John Deer mower from Home Depot that has been set up by True Value and for the first year struggled starting it. I eventually discovered that the battery was undersized and the terminals had never been properly tightened.
Last summer it took five weeks to get a drive belt replaced, and it cost a lot more money than Iād ever have guessed. The mower broke down yesterday and again, itās four weeks before they can look at it. I contacted Sears Home Service this morning. They came this afternoon and fixed the mower at a very reasonable price. Admittedly, the same day service was a lucky fluke but the moral of the story is that you donāt have to be stuck in lawn mower purgatory for a month....
