Shelves were actually half full at best on most every food aisle, beverage aisle, most of dairy was empty, even the aisle for pet food was missing large numbers of items. Many items on personal care and first aid aisle were missing: many common deodorant brands like Suave and Gilette, crest toothpaste, Sauve shampoo, Gillette Razors, even there own brand of razors: Equate, were not there. Advil, Melatonin, Bandaid, etc were all unavailable. All these items and MANY more have stickers showing where they should be on aisle and shelves but they were nowhere to be seen When I asked about the shortage of items usually available I was told that I have to give them time to stock shelves??? I asked if there was a way to know when this location would have the same inventory available that other Walmarts have, it was implied that this request is unreasonable. I've NEVER seen a Walmart this bare of items, not even at holidays when one much expect shortages. (Later that day I was at a different Walmart location in Folsom and they did not have all the items out of stock like Placerville Walmart). Something is clearly going on with the inventory at the Placerville location and employees were clearly coached on how to not answer a question regarding so many items missing for example: common cereal brands like general mills has large blank spaces in shelves, spices, chocolate milk of any brand was unavailable, no 2% or whole milk of any brand, many varities of Campbell's soup unavailable, Kraft macaroni and cheese, Rice-a-Roni, Chips ahoy cookies, canned vegetables like green beans, etc.... all unavailable to just name a few. I also had a return and was told that it isn't possible to answer when the return desk was available and what time they opened because 1 lady called in sick... It was just bizarre...I was told that my return may be able to be processed at 9 a.m. but probably better to wait another hour past that to be safe...??? Truly bizarre experience... did not know that customer service department for returns had no set schedule like the other Walmart stores. I do not plan to return to this location, the employees I encountered were even less hospitable than normal and clearly felt inconvenienced by questions ... I'm unsure as to why: they had 2 cashiers, NOBODY stocking shelves, NOBODY available in customer service... What are so many employees doing then? Did they cut even more jobs? Have they given up now that Amazon is number 1 retailer? I just do not know how to explain this trip to Walmart. I hadn't been here in almost 4 months and have no plans of going to placerville location in the future even though it is so much closer than any other Walmart location for me up here in Sierras. It's all a mystery I choose to not figure out on my own. Safeway had everything I needed at great prices and customer service and questions, if you had any, were welcomed not refused. Customer service closed during normal operating...
Read moreEdit 12/05/2024 - ââ I guess, at least based on my last review/edit my most recent trip, my experience improved, slightly. đ I don't believe that the current staff is any friendlier, at least to me, personally, than my previous visits. I think they even try to avoid eye contact, so as not to have to help anyone. Maybe it's because it's December, and people are out Xmas shopping, and the store is probably always relatively busy. I had an idea of what I wanted when I came in, and I had looked the main items up on the Walmart app, which told me said items were in stock, and where to find them. I could only locate 3/5 things, with the remaining 2 appearing to be out of stock. I still wouldn't recommend wasting your time at this store. If you absolutely must go to any Walmart, take a drive and visit the one in Folsom, or one of the Sacramento area locations.
Edit 8/30/2022 - â this store is absolutely out of control ridiculous. I came to make a return and am pretty much shocked by the behavior of the employee at customer service. She is basically throwing a fit behind the desk, and very loudly threatening to clock out and go home if she doesn't get a manager or lead to the desk. I don't understand why she isn't able to at least help some people. Not all transactions require manager approval... While I understand the situation is frustrating for the employee, but the way she is handling it is crazy. She is acting like a child, and speaking very loudly on the phone to an off the clock employee, and had threatened to leave more than 20 times - not exaggerating. I will spare the rest of the review other than to say that it appears that no one here gives a crap about their jobs or this store!
Review 7/2018 - âââ Ummm. Its Wal-Mart. Does it really need a review? Its a nightmare shopping at any location of this store that i have ever been to because of the majority of the customers. As far as Wal-Marts go... This one is not special. Its on the smaller side. The automotive dept. Kinda sucks. I don't care if you are the first person in the door when they open. An oil change takes a minimum of 2 hours. And they don't even check your other fluids. The last time I had my oil changed there, i left my car for a while. When I came back, it was parked in the lot with the windows down... With my stuff just sitting there for anyone who felt like it to...
Read moreI went into the store to buy my kids new bikes. The two that I had found online and wanted were only on sale if you purchased online which I didnât realize until I got there. I looked around and found two right next to each other that were perfect and on clearance. One was for my son and the other for my daughter. The signs both said $64. An employee assisted us in getting them down and I even clearly asked if they were on clearance, he said yes. We got to the front and weâre told one was ringing up cheaper at $50 and the other was somewhere around $150. I told them everything, directed them to the signs and that I spoke to the employee etc. The employee at the front went and looked. He came back and said that they werenât giving them to me for that price and that the sign, âwasnât even lit up.â Basically as if I was lying. I asked for a manager and went back to take photos so I could show the manager. Matt came to the front and was really kind. He had already offered to help us when we were wheeling our bikes up to the front and passed him. He said he could only go as low as $100. I wasnât going to buy it but my mom offered to pay the difference. While I really appreciated Mattâs customer service itâs a very frustrating experience when the signs clearly said $64, I had proof and had asked the original employee that helped me get them down. I spend hundreds here every week doing grocery pick ups for my family and am really disappointed in my experience. I understand that management probably has thresholds but when the customer is showing proof and another employee looked and already confirmed I donât feel like right was done by the customer. Due to my experience I plan on moving my grocery pick ups to Target. I hope no one else has the same experience and hope that next time the price that is listed is...
