130 family members went to celebrate our matriarch’s 90th bd. It left much to be desired. The food was cold. Appetizer croquetas were frozen inside, the extra paid for Caesar salad was charged and instead they brought out chopped carrots with a mayo type dressing. The rice was cold and so bad that the waiters took them back almost intact. The maduros were also cold and hard. The bread and butter charged extra was delivered to some tables and none to others. The planner from the club said she would make and serve popcorn bags if we took them. None were served. Speaking of the planner, she was not to be found anywhere except the time she stuck her head in to apologize for not being there as she had an event to prepare. And what where we if not an event? At the end of the lunch, a 1/2 sheet of cake was cut into slivers and given to the guests though there was a 3 layer bd cake with candles and an entire 6 ft dessert table full of cakes, pies, cupcakes and petit fours left intact. These were taken back to the kitchen and left there. For what purpose, I do not know. The waiters ser eres the food over the people instead of to their left as us proper. The sangria was undrinkable and the lemonade was also. Both were tepid. The only thing good was the pianist who played nonstop and was very agreeable to play requests. The Big five has declined significantly, what a shame. I was embarrassed with all those who took planes and long car trips to...
Read moreAfter being a member for over 20 years along with my family, it is a misfortune to see that the quality of the Big 5 has deteriorated over the years. Throughout my time here I have seen members openly use illegal substances in public areas, demonstrate disorderly conduct during sporting/club events, and have disrespectful staff members. I recently witnessed a club member discriminate another club member due to their physical and mental disability at their club gym to which club management chose to not hold any accountability for that club member's actions when it was brought to their attention. Several other members witnessed the incident and even then management chose to do nothing about it. It was then that I realized that this place was not the wonderful family-oriented club that it used to be. I am hoping that they make the right moves to make...
Read moreWas invited to this venue on a Sunday to celebrate a birthday. While standing at the bar to order drinks, I overheard a female server openly and rudely complaining about the senior citizens at the tables she was assigned. Two minutes later a gentleman walked up to the bar and asked the bartender how was he doing. The bartender pointed at his tip jar and rudely stated, “This is misery!” The entire dining experience was made awkward by the feisty and aggressive female server. Every time she was asked a question by anyone at our table she replied very rudely, even though she was making an automatic 20% gratuity off of every check, as stated on the receipt in fine print. Even though the service is horrible my folks had a great time with the live...
