Miami-Dade County Youth Fairgrounds — Local services in Doral

I have never in my life been to a fair to be (wo)manhandled by security up front checking bags and pockets. The women working last night were absolute menaces, 2 different women grabbed my sister by each of her pockets on her jacket pulling her back and forth between the two crazy ladies. I told them to relax and one yelled back “RELAX?”. she then grabs my purse and is fully using her two dirty hands to grab everything out of my purse when the biggest thing in their was a lipgloss. last time i checked they’re supposed to be using at least gloves and a stick to look through bags. it honestly felt like we were getting searched to be put in the back of a cop car. to start out my night like that was so upsetting and honestly maddening. idk who hired these women and how they met any requirements to do this job. searching for weapons is TOTALLY understandable for safety purposes but to be treated that way was not. we weren’t carrying anything illegal or not permitted at the fair so to be treated like we were criminals to enter A FAIR is just nuts. Treated unfairly by Staff Supervisor of the Department for the Fair Grounds. I answered my phone and I was unable to hear my father who was calling me from the hospital. I quickly went to a safe space to talk. To my surprise there were paramedics who came in after me to the location where I had been to take aid to a woman who had been hurt. The paramedics were not rude or made me feel uncomfortable or threatened. But the FairGrounds Supervisor did. He yelled at me and continued to surround me with another employee. Stating “ why are you here “ “ You can’t be here “ he continued to yell at me and suggested that he would remove me from the premises. I asked him why? Because I answered my phone. I am no longer in the perimeter of which to he proceeded to call law enforcement and they asked me to leave the property because he simply didn’t want me there anymore. I am a patriot who has spent my time and money to participate in a peaceful time. And to no avail have I been placed under any type of pressure and then the disrespect. Great amusement park for the kids but missing some areas to sit with shadow for the parents or grandparents standing under the sun all day long...

Even though it's a fun day to spend in family, the prices to get in are really high. If you are a family of 5, you don't spend less than 200 dollars with the tickets and food/water.

Some games are really useless, like the little horror house ride where there is literally nothing to see, and it lasts maybe less than 1 minute...

They need to upgrade their proposal with some more interactive and newer rides/games and make it more comfortable with spaces to have a break, to sit, and to eat.

Also, the parking situation is quite challenging. Super long line to get in and terrible to get out!

So overall, the space in big and the rides/games are kinda nice but not worth the price. We are in 2025, and it is time to invest in an upgrade to make it worth it for our families! Healthier food options would also be appreciated and bring a different...
