I am giving this location two stars as the manager did do his best after a rude employee interaction.
1)This was the first issue. I placed an order for pickup after I got off work on Sunday evening to be picked up between 4-5 pm on Monday (today). When I arrived at 4:02, I hadn't received my confirmation email, but still had my order email. The store told me that they had not received my order, but I volunteered to grab the items that I could find to hopefully finish the process. No one was wearing name tags or any kind of identification, so I asked the first person I found.
Issue 2. As I walked around the store (I had never been in before) the three employees and 1 manager were working on inventory. I had found the first part of my order (I was stocking up to donate to a homeless shelter), I went down the next aisle to find toothpaste. An employee named Earnest was stocking the bottom shelf. I walked behind him to continue down the aisle, and I did he said "excuse me!" And I said "I'm sorry?" And he went on to interrupt and chastise me that walking behind him without saying the word excuse me was inconsiderate and rude. After a moment of trying to explain what I was doing, he was still interrupting me telling me the thing to say was excuse me. I said "excuse me" and continued to find my items.
Issue 3. When I arrived at the register, a man (who I found out was the manager) instructed me to move to register 1 and called Earnest to help. As I began explaining the situation to Earnest, he asked "did they tell you to come to me?" Then he began to explain to me that he is just trying to teach me common courtesy, and that at his age of 47 (I am 40), and he needed to instruct me. The manager came over at that point and relieved Earnest. I asked what his name was to make sure I had it correct and explained some of what had happened. He said Earnest would be handled, but I wanted to warn others and will be emailing, Facebook messaging, tweeting this story out to whomever When you have a choice about where to shop, make sure it is a place with kind people! I will for sure choose another location or just avoid Dollar General stores in the future.
I almost forgot! As I walked around the store gathering my items during my pickup window, the order was cancelled and I had to buy everything...
So, after discovering this Dollar General, I have seen it go through a lot of really bad transitional stages. It seemed that each set of employees hated their jobs and 1 of them seemed to hate the customers. I say that because I witnessed that manager..last year being so rude and even insulting to innocent customers. She was even rude with me, and that was when I told her how terrible her customer service was. I also told her she literally ruined a customers day. I even stopped going to that store for months. Thankfully, I took a chance and went back to the store out of convenience. I noticed the place was unbelievably in much better shape than I had ever seen the store be in before. The nice latina lady at the register smiled and said a big hello to me when I walked in. There were no boxes or stocking carts everywhere as there had been before. The store was merchandized as I had never seen it be. The dollar aisle was no longer a mess as I remember it being before too. When I got my cleaning agents and snacks to the counter, I met a very kind lady whom I later learned was the new manager(Letha). She asked me how I was doing and we spoke about the weather as she bagged my items. I had to tell her, "You got this store looking so good, I had to take pictures. Great job!" She said thank you and I could tell she was excited about her work. The whole time we spoke, she was pleasant and productive too. Needless to say, I now frequent the store to buy all my favorite items. The staff is hard working and friendly. Kudos to them for turning the vibe in that store to a...
Read moreWent in to pick up a few things I needed. I had my one year-old little girl with me. Put her in the buggy, drove it back to where the rest-rooms, I drink water all day, had to go. Upon arrival at the womenâs restroom with my daughter in tow tried to go in and it was locked. There was a sign that said to use the restroom go ask For a key (No out of order sign) and so I walked up to the front and asked. The manager looked at me and told me the rest-room is open. I explained that I tried to open the door and itâs locked. She told me we had to use the menâs room. No explanation nothing she just said itâs closed. (The Womenâs room) I gathered that much by the locked door. I however identify as a woman who has a baby and no interest in taking her in the menâs room where I have her stand there while I go to the restroom and try to stop her from touching foreign germs that menâs restroom will No doubt carry within it. Unacceptable! Also how uncomfortable of a situation for me to know Iâm not good enough for her restroom. Also she acted as though it bothered her to speak to me. Wouldnât even hardly look at me. I told her I was just going to go. She threw up her hand more or less said whatever. Completely shocking Especially for this location. It used to be a good store. I see there management discriminates against momâs now. Maybe just...
