We regularly use Mer Aqua in John's Creek as our head spa of choice, but we noticed Sapa was open and had available appointments so I booked two Deluxe packages for me and my fiancé.
The ambiance was nice, and being greeted with a nice foot soak was a good start, but afterwards, everything was just kind of lack luster. The technicians never asked about water temperature or pressure strength, so you were either getting a scalding soak or a very light touch on the massage. They also did not brush out the oils and cleaners used on my fiancé's hair, so it was left very tangly, and had a lot of build up from the items used.
The facial was nice, but the technicians did not thoroughly remove all of the cream mask that was applied, leaving alot of residue and pieces of the mask even after the entire process was done. We sat down at dinner afterwards and noticed small pieces of face mask we were picking off each others face while sitting. I expect a cleaner result when the facial is something you're specifically paying extra for.
Lastly, while my fiancé was enjoying the last of her treatment, because im a guy, and I guess because I dont have as much hair, I was definitely cheated out of about 15-20min of my overall experience I paid for. I ended up waiting in the front lobby, no one asking how my experience was, waiting while she received the last bit of her head spa treatment...and then another 5-10min. while they blew her hair dry (which, from what she explained, was not at all what was expected and the woman was not comfortable assisting with this part at all).
Overall, it was a relaxing experience, but for the price, I don't think I would return. It's $25 more than Mer Aqua, but the quality is not on par, and the service was certainly lacking in a lot of ways. I hope as they progress they improve so that others have a better experience, and would love to speak to someone if they felt like discussing our experience...but ultimately, I'll stick with the location that has given us a far better experience...
Read moreInto getting pampered? Need to destress? Or just want to have the self care you deserve? Head on over to Sapa Head Spa! I went with a friend to take advantage of their soft opening deal ($100 for the $145 service) and can I just say it was such a steal! Because even at regular price I feel like it was well worth it. We first came in and everything is so aesthetically pleasing. Then you’re greeted by the lovely staff. They bring out a foot bath to begin your treatment and you get to switch out your shoes for their comfy slippers. Then you’ll change into this cover up and go to your table. I don’t want to give it all away with too much detail, because it’s nice for you to just enjoy it and find out for yourself. But you’ll get 1.5 hours of nonstop hair washing, facial, and massages from the top of your head all the way down to your shoulders and upper chest area. There are so many ways that helped me to let go and just relax; from the aromatics, ambiance, heat therapy, and the pressure points they were touching, it made it difficult to have a care about anything in the moment. I had Ivy and she’s amazing (so attentive and gentle yet the perfect amount of pressure when you want it to be stronger) but my friend said she loved her person too, so I’m sure you can’t go wrong with anyone there. Afterwards they even lightly blew dry my hair, which was a nice touch… honestly there were so many little things they did that you can appreciate, like how they even give you hot tea and a dessert to finish your treatment while they return your shoes. If only I could win the lottery so I can go everyday! But I will definitely be back! Also if you are the type of person who loves people to play with your hair, or your favorite part of going to the hair salon is that deep conditioning scalp massage, then this is definitely the place for you! I left feeling much better and my hair feels so much healthier...
Read moreI was really excited for this experience, but so many red flags occurred along the way as they changed my appointment time with and without communicating to me.
I booked my appointment for a specific time almost a month in advance. Fast-forward to a week before my appointment, and I received a text message saying that my appointment had been successfully rescheduled till later that afternoon. I called to dispute that change because I didn’t request it and I wasn’t available at any other time. The woman that I spoke with said that she didn’t understand why the issue occurred, but she had changed it back. (Red Flag 1)
A few days later, they called me attempting to reschedule again because they were overbooked for my time slot. I called them back stating that I could not change my appointment time because that was the only time I had available that day. (Red Flag 2)
A few days later, again, they called me trying to reschedule saying that there was a family emergency and that they were understaffed and offered me a 10% discount to change my appointment time. (Red Flag 3) I understand how things like this can happen, but after they changed my appointment time without notifying me and I had told them twice before this was literally the only time that I was available, I just decided to cancel my appointment.
Maybe give this place a few months to figure out appointment scheduling and logistics but right now there’s no guarantee they won’t change your appointment time without...
