Kim who works where the baby animals are located knows nothing about chickens. Ask her anything and she will make it clear she doesn’t know or care. We pointed out a chick with pasty butt to her that could have been saved and she refused to help it. Manager William said they put coconut oil on their bottoms or give to customers with other chicks when they are in bad shape like that but she would not do either. She just walked off and left it to die. After I rang the bell to get her back (and was actually hoping anyone but her would show up), my husband stood on one side of the chicks and I stood on the other. He told her we would get whatever I wanted but she would not get the chicks I was asking for and just keep starting at him stupidly. She then said while we were thinking she would help someone else and skipped to the next person though I was there way before them and was trying to tell her what we wanted. She just isn’t smart at all. The chicks smelled horrible and were dying right in front of us. I have bought chicks here for years and have never seen them be this nasty and smelly. Please move Kim to an area where she is not in charge of live animals. They are being badly neglected and she doesn’t know even the most basic stuff about them. When I asked which ones were pullets she doesn’t even know what that means. She read a sign out loud that answered this question and said she didn’t know because she apparently didn’t understand the words that she read. Put her somewhere stocking shelves where she can’t kill...

I will say they have a large variety and their animal selection (chick's, rabbits, ducks) larger and healthier appearing than other such stores. They had snack items and some was on sale super cheap. One such item I looked at, the whole sale section had expired 2 months ago. Hubby had a question about something he found in sporting goods but there wasn't anyone yo talk to available. We went back the next day and asked our question and the clerks we found did not have the authority to answer the question. An item we were looking at was broken and we were wondering about a discount. We were told the manager was the only person who could answer our question. We were told to come back Monday am at 7 to check on the item. We arrived at 7 and asked for the manager, as instructed. Someone from the sporting goods department let hubby know that the manager would not offer a discount on broken merchandise. The manager did not even know the item was non functioning and had been sitting that way for over a year. The manager planned to contact the company and get replacement parts, even though the item had been broken for over a year and is now discontinued. So long story short, that's fine if they want to keep it and repair it. But we made a specific trip back to the store and the manager could not even go to the front of the store to communicate this in person. No need to go back...
Read moreTwo years ago I rated this location 4 Stars. Now, I'm rating it 1 Star.
Store employees act like they were all waiters in a French restaurant before being hired by Rural King.
I drove 60 miles specifically to purchase a product advertised in the 01/13/2022 to 01/26/2022 Sales Flyer the Rudy Special, Heavy Duty Storage Tote with Red Snap Off Lid.
(1) I looked for about 15 minutes but could not find it. I asked two employees -including a section supervisor who was talking to three other employees- where the totes were located.
Both directed me to other parts of the store but I still never found any.
(2) Upon checking out, I asked the employee at the Service Desk. She immediately informed me they were SOLD OUT.
Q: If the sale item is SOLD OUT, shouldn't ALL the employees be aware of that instead of sending customers on a wild goose chase?
(3) When I asked for a rain check, the employee told me RK does not issue rain checks nor offer substitutions. About that time, the music over the PA system stopped and the voice over began touting the Red Top Totes I was just informed the store was sold out of.
Q: If RK does not issue rain checks for advertised items, once those items are SOLD OUT, shouldn't that location post a notice to that effect on the advertisement flyer board at the store entrance?
In short, RK's customer service is on a par with a thrift store staffed by...
