I unfortunately got stuck with this company when I called the warranty company for service. Before I go into detail about the incident I just want to warn anyone thinking if using this company on their own. DO NOT USE THEM believe the star rating and reviews, they are terrible. So here is my story.
I call the warranty company, they have Superior Electric call me to set up an appointment. The first appointment goes fine. The tech calls and comes out, diagnosis the problem and has to order the part. A week or so goes by. I get contacted the part is in. We set up an appointment the tech comes, works on the repair for an hour and can not fix it. He says he will come back on Friday and finish. Friday comes, he does not show, I call him, I call the office. I talk to a miserable man. He says they are running behind they will be there. He says is real nasty to say the least. Well they never show. I call the office on Monday, she's nice. But oppps they closed the call, now I have to call the the warranty company to set up another service call.
I do so, the warranty company has to contact superior to call me to set up another call. They do, we set the appointment. I remind them as I told them each time, that I work nights and won't answer the phone in the AM To verify the appointment. I tell her we will be there, my wife and I have arranged our schedual for the 4th time so one of us will be there. The appointment day comes.. I check my VM when I wake up at 1:30. The tech says to call him. No ETA given. The call goes to VM, I try multiple times. I call the office, no one answers. At this point I blow my lid and leave angry messages on each the techs phone and office phone.
Finally I get a call back from the office at 4:45, they closed at 5. I get told I never answered my phone and I never called. Well I blow up again. Because this, as you can tell has been going on for over a month and now the are calling me a liar. The office lady who wasn't so nice this time around, which is kinda expected since I was yelling at her. She tells me they can come out again on Thursday afternoon. Which is the following week.
Well that day comes, no one shows and no one answers there phone. I leave the office a few choice messages.
Now I call the warranty company, they can't do anything until the repair company closes the call on their end. I have to wait another week. I call the warranty company again, the first call taker tells me they have to send out the same service company again. I yell at her, get put on hold, she never picks back up. I call again, the second call taker says she will escalate the call to someone above her to make the decision. That guy calls me back a couple days later. He is actually helpful and says he will set up another company. A couple days later they call, we set an appointment for the following week.
The new tech comes out, in the AM not PM, but I'll take it. He looks at the problem, tells me if anyone had used the oven we would have blown our house up because of what the other tech did. Well isn't that nice.
So the new tech gets a part from his van and fixes my oven in about 20 min.
This took nearly 2 months to repair my oven all because Superior Electric is an incompetent, ignorant and useless company. DO NOT USE THEM, BELIEVE THE 1.7...

We had no choice in using this company. We filed for appliance repair with our HSA home warranty and this was the company assigned to us. Our nightmare started over 6 weeks ago. First appt was 9/3 between 12-6pm. He was supposed to call when he was on his way. He did not. I am working from home and spend most of my day in conference calls. I received a missed call while in an presentation and before my phone stopped ringing my doorbell went off- 4 times. I immediately excused myself from my colleagues to answer and forgot to mute my microphone. What followed - and I have witness in not only my husband but my co-workers- was the technician immediately berating me when I opened the door, claiming he’d been outside my home knocking for minutes and called several times. He threatened to leave, the started bullying me about wasting his time. First, my door bell works PERFECT and so I have no inclination to believe he knocked. I explained that No, I didn’t hear him knocking and I had only less than a minute before missed a call because I was working. At this point he is pushing into my home where he now realizes my husband came up the basement stairs at his excessive use of our doorbell (because he knew I was working and could hear the mans comments to me). He immediately takes a slightly better attitude with my husband - but only because my husband was demanding he leave for being a total DONKEYBUTT to me. He begins telling us how he drove all the way from McKeesport for this service call and we’d be paying either way. Since this was a multi appliance call my husband- still fuming and refusing to let him anywhere near me- allows him to look at our dishwasher, dryer, and refrigerator. He took minimal information and serial numbers, told us he’d have to order parts, looked at our dryer and told us to flip the door around despite that not really being an option... and left saying he’d be in touch.
2 missed appointments later, the tech finally shows up but conveniently forgets to bring our parts. So he leaves says he’ll be back shortly and never return. This was Thursday morning so by Thursday evening I have called to ask why he did not return and the secretary has no idea. She “thought he was coming back“. So she has the technician call me and he then tries to propose times at night after 6pm Friday-Sunday. He finally agrees to Monday between 8 AM and 11 AM. He does not inform the front office, and SURPRISE he never shows up.
I called HSA told them that at this point I was done and I would not allow the contractor back into my home. They’ve (HSA) now marked my service order complete, charge me over $100, and I have nothing to show for it and my appliances are still broken.
If you’ve made it this far- please...
Read moreSuperior Electronics was assigned to fix my floor model A/C by frigidaire. The tech was very kind and personable the first time he came to look at the A/C. However, he couldn't get the unit apart to fix the leak that it had (brand new, out of the box). He told me he would return in about a week with some other tools and see if it could be done. When he came back, he decided to just take it back to their office. When he returned it the next week, he just dropped it off and left - I actually didn't even get to speak with him as a friend let him in to set it back up. I ended up calling them the next day because they left the drain plug off the water tank and with the high humidity, the A/C was collecting a lot of water and just spilling it out onto my hardwood floors. I spent another week and a half playing 'call the tech' with the owner, of which told me every time I called, that I needed to call the tech (of which I did, and he wouldn't call me back for days). The owner finally said that he can't control the tech, make him drop off the part, or even call me back. He said something along the lines of 'he is contracted out, he isn't my employee, the only way I could control him is by putting a gun to his head' Then he proceeded to tell me he could fire him, if I like, but then I'd never get my part back.
Over a week after that, (if your counting, that's over a month, now). The tech dropped off a bunch of plugs on my porch. None of which belong to my A/C. By then, I had called Frigidaire, and they had sent the plug I needed to me (it took 7 days, still less than Superior Electronics). I filed a BBB complaint against them a few days before they returned the part, which is probably the only reason they did, and it wasn't even the right part.
When I finally put the plug Frigidaire sent me in and turned the unit on, it still leaked! So, I spent 2 months with this guys stringing me along, the hottest months of the year, and the most humid, with no A/C, just to find they didn't even fix the original problem, along with leaving crucial parts of my A/C off, leaving it inoperable, even if they had fixed it.
The owner called today to argue that his tech sent the right parts (he didn't even come in to re-install or look at the A/C, instead opting to call and leave me a voicemail saying the parts were on the porch) of which he did not, and demanded I find another servicer so he could close the service order. He's hung up on me several times, called me unreasonable on BBB, and was just over all rude in nearly every call.
I would not recommend this company to anyone! And given the reviews I've seen on BBB, and every other site, not many would. If Frigidaire or some other company sends these guys, please, for your sanity, call them back and ask for...
