Excellent Fair. I came here first with my 6yr daughter in 2017 and she has been asking about it ever since. This year (2018) fair is open from 8/24 to 9/2. Considering what it has to offer the $6 admission is very cheap, we were there for almost 6 hours so it came out to be around $1 per hour per person, you cannot beat that. For us food was great, my daughter loved funnel cake and the fries that we got from the vendor were made from real potatoes not that pre-cut frozen stuff that has many ingredients. Besides the rides, the interaction with animals is a big deal not even for my daughter but for me as well. They have so many kids of chickens, rabbits (you can't really pet them though) many pigs and cows which you can touch just don't stand directly behind the cow because you might be in for a surprise :). For the size, the amount of rides was good, they also have truck and lawn motor races as well as donkey rides and various farm machinery that can be purchased such as John Deer or Kubota. The fair also features small museum, blacksmith who can make stuff for you or you can purchase already made decor from him. Fair has facilities and you can use credit card at the entrance booth to purchase your tickets. Give it a try with your kids, you will lake...
Read morePlenty to do and see at this country fair. There is free parking and one price to enter and you can ride all the rides you want, which is what my kids did all night long. There is a great selection of rides for all ages too. The lines go fast so you are not waiting forever to get on a ride. The midway has a good selection of games and plenty of good food to choose from. My kids love seeing all the animals and I enjoy checking out the various vendors and seeing the exhibits. Going to see one of their nightly shows like the truck and tractor pulls or the demolition derby is fun for all ages and some are included with your admission. Even though I am from Berk County I have been coming to this fair ever since I was a young kid that camped in the Poconos over the Labor Day weekend every year with my parents as I was growing up and now I try and do the same with my kids so they can share the same fun experience I did as a kid. If you are able to, I highly recommended planning on spending several hours at this fair. I don't think you will be disappointed. I...
Read moreI was disappointed by the fair this year. I go every year but this year was not the same. I went on opening night and it had rained the night before so I don't know if they didn't have everything out that they usually do, but I noticed that there were no benches to sit on around the fair. Usually I can sit while the kids are on rides and I'll be okay for a few hours, as I have mobility problems and need to sit frequently. There were no benches around the Midway at all. Only in the dining areas. As well, some of the rides seem to be missing this year. There was no Gravitron, no salt and pepper shakers, and so on. There were a lot of vendors missing, too. After walking around the fair I only found one clothing vendor, one weapon vendor, and a couple of odds and ends here and there. There were plenty of games to suck up my money though. Even the agricultural displays were few and far between. Maybe next year...
