Been reading some reviews from this store, and I find it rude what some people type, I have been doing business with this store since I moved to Dubois, and i must say it is a very pleasant store to deal with, the staff is quite friendly and the prices are very competitive with your big box stores like walmart... while reading into some of the reviews, I seen one comment about the employee arguing with the customer about a price of a sale item, not once did this reviewer ever mention about the giant eagle advantage card, did she have one with most of their advertised specials you need to have one to get the special, it free to sign up for it and takes a matter of seconds to do. As for the comment about the diet drink, get a sense of humor, it's kinda funny I think, if the comment was said it was probably only s joke ( but it is a known fact also that nutrasweet causes cancer, the sweetener in most diet drinks).
I give this store credit for being a great store, I walked there today since I only live about 2 blocks away, and found myself in as bit of a jam when I realized I purchased too much stuff to carry back to my house all in one trip, my miscalculation, but instead of being rude the store personal allowed me to take my items to my house using the cart, as long as I returned it as soon as I was done. This is being customer oriented to me, unlike other stores that has the door alarm devices attached to their shopping baskets so you cant even remove them from the store ( ie Walmart ).
Giant Eagle please keep up the good work you are very appreciated by your...
Read moreGiant Eagle is a nice supermarket in Dubois. The store itself was very clean, the parking lot didn't have trash. When I entered the store, they had disinfectant wipes, and there were lots of carts. The flyer ad was right before the carts.
Walking through the store was very easy with wide ailes, and they were clear.
There were numerous staff and managers in the store and all very nice and polite asking if I needed help.
I didn't have any issues finding anything, and the shelves were stocked.
The cooked chicken was very good. A lot of taste and not dry.
I did not buy any baked goods, but the doughnuts and cookie cake looked very tasty.
The food was priced compared to other grocery stores. Some items were more expensive, but they had a lot of deals.
The staff at the checkout were very nice and sociable.
The only area that needed some attention would be the fruit that I observed was not to my standards. The strawberries were not ripe, and blackberries looked damaged (smushed). For the price, I would like to see a better product.
It is a very nice store to get...
Read moreThis store and many of its employees suck. If you're looking for a large store like in the Pittsburgh area that has lots of frills you won't find it here. I made a purchase of some diet drink mixes a few months ago and the cashier told me to enjoy my cancer water. Most recently the cashier was arguing with me over the price of an item from the produce department. She insisted the price was correct I told her to go read the sign and go read the ad and she still said I was wrong. I walked out of the store without buying anything. Another time I went in there with the 2018 treat card with my little girl, the cashier had no clue what it was, and after I explained it to her she tried to keep the card. And I had to explain to her we get it back because it's good for the whole year. I don't know where this store gets their employees that they are scraping the bottom of the barrel. And I know this is all Giant Eagle stores, not just this one, but the fact that you have to buy so many of an item to get the discount price is a...
