We just came from the bowling alley. When we got there, it was empty; we were put on lane 7. No sooner were our shoes on, balls selected, names entered, and games begun that a group of four children under the age of six with two parents and two grandparents were placed right beside us in lanes 5 and 6 with bumpers up and ball rollers set up for the kids in the lane right next to us. Again - completely empty bowling alley.
So we try to continue our game with children running off to arcade and adults yelling after them, adults arranging ball rollers and setting kids up - coming into our lane and stopping us in our tracks. So we'd wait until they were done and continue. You pay by the hour, so by the end of the hour we were having to just grab our balls and hurl them down the lane so we could finish our game.
I spoke very kindly (just as an "in the future" sort of thing) to the person at the front desk (a different person who set us up) about what happened. She asked why we didn't just come up and request a new lane. Well, we were already set up, had already started, time was ticking off our clock, and they were the ones who set it up that way in the first place. Why? When you spend over $50 for an hour of bowling, and the place isn't packed - or if it's empty (!), you shouldn't have to feel like you are packed in like sardines and being imposed upon.
The gal at the front desk just said sorry that was your experience. Thanks. We'll definitely be back soon - which is too bad because it's a really cool place, but when you're dismissed in...
Read moreReally cool place! We found this traveling through WY and stopped for a break. We were pleasantly surprised when we learned they had a gluten-free menu. The cook brought out the gluten-free bread they use and explained they change gloves, use a separate griddle and/or pan, and work hard to prevent cross contamination. We ordered gluten-free Philly Cheesesteak, gluten-free grilled cheese, and a gluten-free breakfast sandwich with egg, bacon, and cheese. One of the girls up front explained that they also have gluten-free muffins available and have just perfected gluten-free bread they want to sell in the bakery and maybe later along the line other gluten free treats. Since seven of us were traveling and half had Celiac, we were packed well to provide our own food, but this was a great addition to our trip and gave the kids a way to run off energy in the arcade while we waited for food and before we had fo get back in the car for a few more hours. I highly recommend stopping at Nana's!!! The non gluten-free members of our group also enjoyed...
