This is probably one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had for something being labeled with 4.5 stars. First of all, upon arrival I pulled in looking for a place to park so I could check in and while there is no officially labeled parking i chose an open space closest to the office so I could run in and grab my key. Before even putting the car into park, what I learned minutes after was the owner, she decided to yell at me about where I decided to park. Legit yell so I moved to the side of the office and went inside only to find out she was the owner of this establishment. Her demeanor changed and she seemed “off” she became excited that I arrived (just after yelling at me) and did a happy dance before telling me to make sure I leave by 10am. No hi. No welcome. No thank you -she just left and then put a sign on the office that said closed for the evening if you have issues call John. I wish I could say it all stopped there but then we went up to our rooms. Now they look amazing. Quaint cabin setup. However, no AC. Just a fan above the bed that stirred up hot air. My room had a wooden plank to prop open the window about 6 inches, the other room we had, did not. It was hot enough for me to remind my family that there was a water cooler for ice water in the hall downstairs. When I went down to fill a bottle to bring up, there was a sign on the cooler that said broken. So I then walked across the street to the gas station and stocked up on water because I knew it would be too hot in the room over night. When I got back upstairs I thought, this can’t be it so I opened closets and looked for a thermostat only to find that there were window fans thrown in a closet and a unit in the room that said don’t use -heater only. I checked weather hoping it would cool off at night and it did but very slowly. Propping the window open didn’t help and I had to keep wetting a face cloth to cool myself under the fan. At one point I wet a towel, put it in the mini fridge and then when it iced up, I used it as a blanket. That lasted less than an hour and needless to say I didn’t sleep a wink. The only reason I’m not giving zero stars is because it...

Hands down, one of the best if not THE best place I stopped in during my time in the US. I was heading to Yellowstone National Park, but decided to turn around (after having briefly stopped in Dubois) to stop there the night. I happened to come across Twin Pines Lodge and Cabins on Expedia at a great price, so snapped it up whilst it was still available. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant, especially the gentleman who I was conversing with. Parking was great, as there was a space for a car outside each cabin, with a one-way system in place too. Inside the cabin... WOW! So very rustic and comfortable, with a HUGE bed and a burner too (not too sure of the name of these), which heated things up very quickly and made for a very cosy setting. Had all the things needed in a room like a microwave and TV. Shower worked fabulously and everything was really clean and tidy, so hats off to housekeeping. Even got to see a few deer in the early hours of the morning outside, so don't be alarmed if you happen to hear the odd noise outside. SUPER impressed with this place and would not hesitate in returning if ever I was back in Dubois......

When I entered the office, a young lady opened the half door for the office and said, " Find your name." No greeting, no anything. So now I'm guessing. Find my name where? What's going on? Is this a new guessing game? I look around in the dim office light, half blind from driving 485 miles, to find pieces of paper with names on them with a room key. She also seemed put out to tell me where the room was. Rude.| The room was fine. Renovated with tv, microwave, refrigerator, and tub/shower. It did not have air-conditioning. The room was not made up or serviced my entire 3 day stay. I was afraid to ask.| Since no Wi-Fi password was offered at check-in, I called the number I had for the motel as there was no phone in the room. The gentleman who answered seemed put out to have to answer such a stupid question. Then he said sarcasticly, it was on the moose on the doorjamb. It was there on a silver dollar sized sticker. The print tiny, like I'm going to see it with my eye sight. Rude.| When checking out, a key drop box, no people, no thank you.| So in conclusion, if you like rude you are going to...

Twin Pines Lodge and Cabins is a nice place to stay for what it is. I stayed in a cabin with a queen bed and it had all the conveniences you may need in a one bedroom. The main two benefits for me were the microwave and mini-fridge. The mattress of the bed could use a replacement and the fan in the bathroom is kind of obnoxious (but others may appreciate the noise cancelling). One point you may not get from the website description is some of the units are joined and share a wall so do not assume your cabin will be standalone.
