I've never had a bad experience getting a haircut, truthfully - this is the closest it has come - it was a very uncomfortable experience. The overall scene was unsuredness and awkwardness. I told my stylist very specifically what I wanted and repeated it in different variations and the entire time just based on her tone and body movement it felt like she had never picked up a pair of styling scissors in her life, which made me very uncomfortable. She repeatedly told me I didn't need my hair short (which I thought was the purpose of a haircut), and when I replied by asking for an alternative suggestion, she just sheepishly shrugged her shoulders. She said "I'm just gonna start cutting here" and slowly, almost to the point of seeming timid, cut and razored the sides and back.
Throughout the haircut very little cutting and styling took place. There were a lot of pauses where she just dropped her hands to the sides and just paced around laughing to herself. The kicker was near the end when she just stopped, for a longer period of time than normal, and cracked up saying "I think I messed up your hair" and then slapped a hand over her mouth saying "I'm sorry I said that! I didn't mean it!"
At that point I just took it as it was, considering that, again, she barely did anything to it and decided to finish. When she gave me the mirror to view the back and sides she just gave the chair a sloppy push that barely turned it.
I'll conclude by saying that I don't think either of the employees knew how to operate the computer system considering it took an extended period of time just to put my name in contact info in. I personally may never come back....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went into this salon on Saturday and regretted it immediately upon seeing what had been done to my hair. I went in and asked for a light trim. The stylist was polite and repeated to me light trim twice, as I was already a little nervous since I'd never been to this location and the ratings weren't that great. My light trim turned into a layered and ultra short hair cut. Granted, my hair was not significantly long to start with, but I'd been growing it out since it takes a while for it to have some length. It was my first time in year being able to pull my hair up into a ponytail and now I have a really short haircut, which I did not ask for. When I told the stylist that I hadn't asked for layers and only wanted a light trim, she said that my hair looked beautiful the way SHE cut it. I didn't go into the salon to pay for a haircut that someone else wanted. She did not seem to care that I wasn't happy leaving the chair. It was the first time I have ever cried over my hair being cut short. I am usually not one to care about hair length, but growing it back has been challenging and this was an utter disappointment. I will never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had been going to this location for little over a year and everytime my hairdresser was Stephanie. She made you feel like you were friends for years and I liked that about her. And she has AMAZING talent with scissors. Such attention to detail and took the time to get everything right. She gave you tips when styling, maintaining, etc. She recently quit and went to another salon, so I was left with another woman.
This is where the 3 stars come in. The woman who cut my hair, who shall remain nameless, was very rough when prepping my hair. She messed up the back of my hair and didn't show me the back of my hair when we finished. I felt something flopping around in the back of my hair through out the day. I didn't notice visably she messed up until I got home. Not only that she didn't offer any product after finishing my cut.
Not only that, when I asked where Stephanie went, all they said was she went to a children's salon across town. When I asked which one, they wouldn't tell me. I guess that's what happens when you go for a 7.99...
