Under new management? Pics on reviews didn’t reflect the coffee I received. Cappuccino comes with cinnamon powder here, was a bit off putting.
I think I came in with the wrong expectations given the 5/5 star reviews, possibly the locals know something I don’t. Been a while since I’ve been in Duluth, just visiting for a month, but I cannot in good conscience say this is an establishment for anyone that enjoys good espresso pull or standard coffee drinks like a cappuccino.
Ordered a cappuccino with sugar on the side. Didn’t get the sugar but did get watered down coffee with diluted steamed milk, by the taste of it, in arbitrary ratio of steamed milk, foam, and espresso. Total volume was way over 5oz. I simply struggled to drink it.
Ordered egg, sausage, cheese on croissant. Received the order after quite a while (though they did say it takes time to cook it all). What I got was what I can only guess was Kroger branded thin bacon on a slice of a Kraft cheese on top of a highlighter yellow egg omelet. On the side, to my surprise, I got a re-heated hash brown patty that gave me nostalgia to Hull Middle school cafeteria food from back in the day.
I’d recommend this place if you’re too lazy to pour your own overheated instant coffee and can’t be bothered to put together basic Kroger ingredient breakfast sandwich. With $2 tip that comes out to be ~$17.
The positive is that the vibe is good, people seemed happy and I know the staff is working hard as a small business. Everyone was kind and all and the interior reminded me of my mother’s place in the early 2000’s so it has some charm. But I can’t imagine come back here when I’m...

Sent Aida my statement showing her I would pay $80 for 2lbs of espresso beans and 2 mocha Lattes with her store front. Recently her store front shut down, as a loyal customer I reached out to buy more espresso beans from her. When she told me about the price increase, I asked her how can you justify that when your largest expense (overhead) is gone. She became extremely defensive and rude, stating that she normally doesn’t do business with Africans or Nigerians specifically.
I am a first generation AMERICAN from Philly. I LOVED supporting you because you were African, your coffee beans are AVERAGE at best, and the same organic beans can be found online for a fraction of the costs.
I’ve never felt so embarrassed to support a business like this. Your money is better spent at Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, your local gas station brew.
Will ensure my network knows not to support any local business Aida is a part of or affiliated with.
Amazing that Duluth City can naturally remove those that do not fit the culture....
Read moreVisited for the first time after my workout. Vibe was chill, clean, comfortable. Outlets on some walls made for a pleasant WFH morning, post workout. It’s a small establishment but cozy. Menu Includes common breakfast and lunch fare, as well as a selection of authentic Ethiopian vegetarian choices. The owner was amazingly sweet and super knowledgeable! The coffee was delicious! It seemed very rich in flavor and sweet on its own, and it was apparent the beans were not “over roasted”… They were neither burned, overly acidic, nor did the latte require a bunch of high-calorie “add ons” to be palatable; a pleasant shift from chain coffee shops in the area(…😬… I said what I said…). A 20 Oz skim latte cost under $8 and was plenty of fuel for the day without the necessity of added sugar for a sweet and flavorful cup of Java! Will certainly be...
