Salon Bella Dama
Happy to be back in the A.....
After returning to Atlanta I had to find a Professional Hair Salon. I did most of my research on the web and reviewed various Instagram pages of several salons and stylists. I finally narrowed it down to Ms. Holly, whose Instagram page was on point, at Salon Bella Dama. My first impression of Holly was that she was a detailed professional who carried herself with grace and class. The salon's atmosphere with its diverse clientele is very nice and well maintained (sometimes a little Lauren, Sade or Jazz/R&Bđ¶). When you have pride in your business then you will take the same pride and care when maintaining my hair. I can see this from Holly and her partner.
Before the natural hair craz some of us had perms and we would never think of going more than two weeks without seeing our stylish. But you should not treat your natural curl any different.
In my opinion the relationship with your stylist is symbiotic. My hair is a part of my wealth and beauty it's my crown so it is my responsibility to get to the salon every two to three weeks for Holly & her team (Victoria-who gives me the best shampoo) to maintain and care for my Natural Hair.
Maintaining this symbiotic relationship left my natural hair in a gorgeous healthy state. I never dreamed of wearing my Natural hair any other way except straight but now my options are endless--well to some degreeđ
You know how sometimes a friend or Auntie or cousin may stand next to u with a 400 degree flat iron while u r trying to get ready for an event and say to u "oh girl I can do your hair". You give them the stink eye. Nah, I am good this is Holly's master piece and because she is so detailed oriented she can tell if you burned a few strains of my hair. So please step away from my head.
I am really picky about how I spend my money and my hair.
I recommend Holly 100%. Articulate, intelligent, professional. I can't say more about this young Woman. My hair in 5 months has taken a remarkable turnaround.
You know that beautiful color and curl you see on another women and you go wow that looks so pretty well now when I look n the mirror I say wow that looks so pretty.
Thanks Holly &...

No consultation was done by Holly other than a last-minute email the day before asking if my hair had been previously dyed. I replied âno,â and that was the end of it. As a professional, I expected her to look at my reference photo, examine my hair, and explain the best course of action. Instead, Holly, like too many stylists these days, did the bare minimum and completely ruined my vision for my birthday.
As I told her, if I didnât book the correct service, she couldâve easily let me know. I wouldâve paid for the right one. I just didnât know the technical terms, and she didnât give me the opportunity to fix it.
Now, look at my hair photo versus the inspiration pic. What part of my hair resembles that? To make matters worse, as a first-time client, I had no idea services were Ă la carte. I donât recall seeing that anywhere while booking, and Iâm the type who reads everything. Instead of simply adjusting her prices and including a deep condition, which should be standard after a chemical process, she used a regular conditioner. I was floored.
Then came the kicker: a blow dry was an extra charge. Seriously? When I finally saw my results, my hair had two different tones. I had to ask her to fix it. My question is, you saw my hair before I did, why not do the right thing and correct it then?
She did end up using deep conditioner, which Iâm sure she charged me for, and she blow dried my hair and let me know it was free. Lol All this on top of being 45 minutes late starting on my hair. Which wouldnât have been a problem had I actually got what I asked for. I paid over $100 for some nonsense I could have done at home. Smh

Read moreMy first experience at this salon was amazing, The owner Chantelle did my silk press and it lasted for 2 weeks. Even the lady who shampoo & detangled my hair so effortlessly and with care.
So when I decided to come back I booked for a demi-permanent, deep condition, silk press, & trim. I was booked with the stylist Raven. Due to my first experience (that I mentioned above) I figured all of the ownerâs stylist in her shop would be incredible to work with because of my first experience was amazing.
However, that wasnât the case. First my appointment lasted from 10:30am-5pm. That is a work shift not an appointment. I had important meetings & consultations that had to be rescheduled for my business because of the lack of consideration of my time.
Next, the stylist was very rough with detangling my hair. I couldnât believe a black hair stylist was detangling my hair as if she knew nothing about kinky curls & how you have to start at the bottom and hold the hair to cause less tension to the scalp.
But ultimately this review came because not even 5 hours after leaving the salon my âSilk pressâ looked like a Dominican blowout. It was so frizzy, unlike my first experience with Chantelle. Before I write a negative review I always try to see if the issue can be resolved. I called the salon & told them how my hair looked and about my experience. The owner said I could come in tomorrow and she would fix it. I was very satisfied with the customer service. However, I get a call back saying that the owner said since I got a Demi-color put on she couldnât re-press my hair until 2 weeks. I need a silk press for this week not 2 weeks later. I got my hair done because I had photoshoots, video-shoots, etc booked and need my hair to look great this week not 2 weeks from now.
For $248 I expected a terrific outcome and a better customer solution. My first and last experience at this salon was like...
