There is a lot here. I agree with a review I had seen. The fire marshal needs to shut this place down until they get it organized. I also inquired about a space. At one time I did reach someone by phone and was told there no spaces but fill out an app. Magically I went back with friends and there were open spaces. I asked about them. I was told there are already people filling those. Seriously? The guys at the front are nice. I asked to speak with someone in charge or the owner. The owner is never there. Not much of a business person to NOT be at your business ever to deal with people. I was told to leave my information and a lady named Tara would contact me. I have tried to reach her when I was there and by phone. She is busy or never has time to talk. I have heard from others the same story. They attempted to talk with her and she is busy, they can never even contact the owner. The owner needs to be present or needs to hire someone with management skills. This Tara lady has none. The place isn't so busy you can't talk to potential vendors or customers. I can see why people are leaving here and going to others places. I spoke to a gentleman not long ago who was there for a while. He left and went to a place in South Charleston stating the place is mismanaged and the owner and this Tara lady are impossible to deal with and they never want to talk. A buddy system exists and people jump line for good spaces. Hell the lady selling the hippie stuff has half the building. How about limiting space or completing reorganizing the layout. I will be filing a complaint with the fire marshal. Goodwill is set up better than this maze. This place needs new ownership or a manager who can actually run and manage this place. As the nice gentleman said, look at how many people are leaving and how nice the place in South Charleston is doing. Eclectic goods is losing all of their good vendors to other locations. Until the owner gets onboard or hires a competent person to manage this train wreck the doors will soon close. This isn't my opinion but the opinion of several well known vendors who have recently left. The writing is on the wall if they don't...
Read moreI had inquired a while back by filling out the application to become a vendor. I never heard back from ownership. After going twice I'm glad I didn't. They do have alot of items and some fairly priced. However, how can the fire marshall approve this (I may reach out to the firemarshall). There is no organized layout to this place. Stuff is literally everywhere. At least other businesses of this nature and flea markets have marked off sections that have a flow to it. They need to reorganize the entire layout. I attempted to call several times to follow up on my application and staff did not answer the phone. I called at different times during different days.
Update: still no response from the absentee owners/manager. I did speak with the buildings owner. I may take over the lease or purchase the building. Currently in discussions with them about the various options to purchase or take the lease.
This could be a great place if managed correctly. I have yet to meet the owner. No response to messages or emails. This Tara lady has no clue about management if this is one of the managers (everyone there refers you to her). I have spoken to other owners in the area with the same concept and they and their vendors say this place is a nightmare if you want a response to anything so they have left or opened similar shops. They don't even respond to reviews. Most businesses respond to every review, email, message from all forms of media within a few hours but...
Read moreI never leave reviews for anything except for the occasional receipt surveys but I felt like I just needed to share my excitement about this lovely place! Excellent little place to lose yourself in! A gal pal and I heard about this store/vendor mall/market/thing from a friend of ours at work and we decided to head over there this weekend due to the forecasted rain. What a treat it was! We spent 4 hours here and still managed to not fully indulge! If you can think it, you can find it here. It is such a great place with a very unique and welcoming atmosphere that you get sucked right into. Beyond the incredible selection of items and little mini-stall like cubby holes you can plunder through, the amount of creativity and inspiration you get just by walking through and taking everything in is quite intoxicating! If you have any sort of creativity lying within you that you can't seem to muster together to start a project with, take a stroll through this haven! I have so many ideas and sparks of projects floating around my mind after this weekend that I'm just itching to get started. Ah, I can't wait to go back! I will have to post photos of my...
