Los Agaves — Restaurant in Dunbar

I have been coming here since November 2024. I usually place an order for pick up as I work in the area to have something to eat while I cover a 16 hour shift. Today I decided to stop and dine in with both of my kids and order the same thing as I always do. When the lady had brought my plate out, I had expressed to her no ma’am this is not what I ordered. So she took it back and had brought me out a different plate, which was correct. Only issue was it had tomatoes. I tried to remove them and just eat it but there was to many. I went ahead and just ate the chips and salsa And waited till my daughter was done eating. I asked my waitress for the bill. She continued to try to charge me for something I did not eat. After that, she did not come back did not wait on me at all. Another gentleman had came over again tried to get me to pay and I had expressed to him. I am not paying for something I did not eat. They finally fixed the ticket and I paid, and I had asked the gentleman for both him and the ladies name to speak to the manager. He claims to me he didn’t know their names. At this point I was frustrated and was just ready to leave. I had stopped my waitress once again and I had asked her. Can my daughter get a to go box she completely ignored us. We sat there for another five minutes. We’re completely being ignored. I finally get up and go ask for a manager by that time our food was already off the table, so I just wanna say today was the absolute most disrespectful experience I’ve ever had and I will not be returning. I don’t have staff name but was able to get there picture, and as a faithful customer I don’t appreciate yall disrespecting me & my kids...

Have never been treated so poorly at an establishment in my entire life. We were tired and hungry from a long day on the road coming to see family for Christmas when we stopped in at Los Agaves. My husband and I ordered a couple drinks and some food, our friend did the same. Two of our food orders came out, so only 2 of the three people were served food. One of these two orders were wrong. We decided to pay and leave without making a fuss, as we all have worked in the service industry before. Clearly there was a language barrier issue and we didn’t want to cause any problems. The man took my friends card and came back with it, and we left cash and a cash tip on the table, as we were paying separately. On our way back to the car a man came running out, saying that we didn’t pay. We had to go back inside and be accused in front of a restaurant full of people of dining and dashing. After a long and frustrating conversation and some closer inspection, they realized that the man who had taken the card never charged it before giving it back. We were never apologized to for any of the errors and certainly nothing was made right. We ended up leaving the wrong order there. Just go to Taco Bell, it’s right...

A little bit of everything... We tried one of the larger combination plates, as I figured it'd cover two people easily. The stuffed pepper was my favorite of the dish, and the enchiladas a close second. I have had Mexican food all over the country as an 18 wheeler driver, and this place comes into the top 30%. Add, the portion/ price ratio for the plate we purchased was easy to accept, and this review goes from otherwise 4, to a 5 star rating. The service was flawless. The food came out fast and my drink stayed filled, something hard to do with me because I go through a glass of water usually in the first 5 minutes.
