I have lived in the Triangle area of NC only for the last year, having moved here from living 40 years in Tallahassee, FL. I am firmly in the Duke Medical System and have now, other than my Dentist all my medical needs being met by Duke Associated Medical Providers... (and at age 69, have quite a few of them to make routine visits to. Overall I am completely satisfied and delighted to be associated with the Duke Medical organization.
However, today, while visiting Duke's Aesthetic Center to explore having three different procedures done have an even better story to tell my friends and acquaintances and actually anyone interested in sincere feedback about this particular group of Health Care Providers...The Duke Aesthetic Center. Here goes.
From the moment I got here at 8:15 am until the time I'm writhing this survey, March 1, 2017 now at 12:00, I have been super impressed by how efficient, friendly and courteous everyone has been to me. From the front desk check in, to Jeremy who did my field of vision test, to Robin assisting Dr Julie Woodward, for my Eye lifts, to Ginger Wilkinson, to do the Infini procedure consult, to Dee who prepped before seeing Dr. Charles Woodard, to do my Direct neck lift and my Otoplasty surgery and finally to Kimberly Alford....who efficiently and promptly helped me with the explanation of the fees and sequencing of all my scheduled work to follow..l am have been super happy with the entire process. The Duke Aesthetic Center has a wonderful rhythm that made everything go smoothly. Each of these many people were in sync of my overall purpose for being there today, and everyone passed me efficiently to the next staff professional with minimal wait time. In other medical experiences, also including other Duke system experiences I've had, no experience has matched my great day at The Duke Aesthetics Center. Please pass on these words of praise to all the people mentioned above, and feel free to use this survey in any way on my behalf. Sincerely, John Thomas...
Read moreI’m writing this review 10 days post-op after having a revision rhinoplasty to fix both breathing and cosmetic issues from a previous surgery I had somewhere else. Dr. Barrett is truly amazing. He actually listens and takes your concerns seriously. I spent months, honestly years, researching and being so scared to pick the wrong surgeon again. But wow, he fixed my crooked nose, and after 4 years, I can finally breathe again!
Before my first surgery done elsewhere, I had no trouble breathing at all. But after that procedure, I ended up with a collapsed nasal valve and other issues that made it so hard to breathe. It was frustrating and honestly kind of scary living like that. Dr. Barrett was able to correct it, and I’m so grateful.
Even though I’m only 10 days out, I’m already super happy with the results. If you’re looking for a skilled surgeon, he’s the one. You can tell he really pays attention to detail and doesn’t sugarcoat things. He’s honest and realistic, which I really appreciated.
The whole team at Duke Aesthetic was also incredible. Everyone was so sweet, and the nurses were amazing. So patient and kind. I was really anxious before surgery, and one of the nurses helped calm me down a lot. The nurses after I was waking up from anesthesia were also amazing. I felt really cared for the whole...
Read moreMy experience here was so bad that 20 years later I still remember it as if it happened yesterday. I went there for electrolysis to remove a unibrow. My hair was so thick the aesthetician placed a single hair on a piece of gauze and told me she’d be right back. She went to the aesthetician next door, asked her to come out and together they stood outside my door laughing and gawking at how thick the hair was. I was so humiliated I sat in the exam room holding my head debating whether I should leave. I was determined to have the unibrow removed so I stayed. But when she came back to the room she removed hair around my brows permanently making them super thin and left the unibrow. She insisted I go elsewhere for hair removal. It was horrible. I hope she reads this to know how inappropriate and offensive her behavior was. I tried to complain but the office manager blamed me saying I was a “bad” patient. In a second visit, I met with a plastic surgeon to have a cyst removed, but the office manager and security insisted on being in the exam room when the doctor examined me. At that, I left and never returned. Horrible, horrible...
