This was my second visit to this salon. The first visit was for a full set and I was refused nail service because I had a small green spot (fungus) on my nail. I went to another shop where they removed the fungus and completed the service. I told myself I would never go in there again, but due to the convenient location on my way to another appointment....I recently thought I'd try them again. I went in and requested a nail repair. The tech "Alice" told me I needed a fill-in. I told her that I was in a hurry. She suggested doing a polish change since they did not have the color of my nails. I asked how long it would take and she said just a few minutes. I agreed to the service. The tech seemed inexperienced and aggressive as she jerked, pulled, and twisted my hands/fingers around while filing and buffing my nails. I felt this lady has no respect nor care for me as a customer. Lindsey was professional and personable. Forty minutes later, the service ended and I was fairly pleased until I asked how much it was... Of course, NONE of the services nor prices are posted anywhere! If you must go to this salon, please ask for pricing before they sell you a service you are not anticipating paying for!!! The tech said the total was a whopping $27 for a gel polish change and nail repair!!! I scraped up all the cash I had in my purse which was $25. They said I could bring the $2 back by when I was in the area again(This is why I have given them 2 stars instead of 1). Thank God they didn't call the police ....me being an African-American and all. Truly, the most I have ever paid for any type of polish change was $10! I would never have agreed to the service had I known it was more than $10! I stumbled back when she said a simple polish change was $22!!! In the majority of salons in the triangle a fill-in is not more than $18 and a full-set ranges from $25-30. How is a polish change more than double the price of most salons??!! It must be a very high-end salon with all kinds of bells and whistles that other salons do not offer. Not so for this salon, for Hollywood Nails that is. Honesty and integrity of employees goes a lot further than bells and whistles. The tech should have been honest about the time frame she could complete the service and up front about pricing. I was late for my appointment. In conclusion, this place has a glamorous namesake, but most certainly lacks the luster of any Hollywood establishment. Read moreIt’s very sad I’ve been coming here for a while now and the last few times the Customer Service here has been so poor. Today I came in at 540 and needed a fill in and a pedi and of course like most shops they decided pedi first which I was not upset about but I specifically asked for one manicurist which I was told would do it. After I was done my feet I waited and waited and waited, at 7:05 I was told by Lindsey my manicurist did not have time to do my nails, so after I waited 35 mins for her now she can’t do it. I did not hear it from her I heard it from Lindsey who is the manager. I feel Like it was a total disregard to what I have going on it my life! My sisters last day in town is today and to have me sit there and then give me the excuse that she thought she would be finished In time. So at what point in the whole 35 something minutes I waited no one tell me. The excuse was they close soon and she can ask the manicurist if she would stay to finish me. However I’ve been waiting 35 something minutes was this not discussed before? its sad that only my feet are done and not my nails. I guess they got their money right ? This is no way to make a client feel at all. It’s sad when the communication is not there. I couldn’t let them get no more money from me today. Read moreBasic pedicure. Slow service. Not thrilled with pedicure. Not realistic with wait time. The girl next to me started after me and finished before me.. and she had to soak her gel polish off. I ended up cutting my pedicure short since I’ve been here almost 2 hours already. Will only come here as a last resort as this was not an enjoyable experience and I absolutely detest being at the nail salon all day long. My nail tech, while nice was inexperienced and honestly nails isn’t his thing and it showed. I expressed my feedback professionally and it was basically not received and met with excuses. I also asked for a discounted service since my service took so long and was not completed appropriately and I was told instantly “we don’t do that.” Not a problem, I don’t mind paying for what I asked for however, I will not be back as a pedicure shouldn’t take this long and I don’t give my money to anyone that doesn’t appreciate me as a customer or offer skilled, good professional, timely services. One star for the carelessness, lack of appreciation for my time, and lack of skills. Also one star for not hearing out your customers and instead making excuses for the service you offered.
